Heard that the GS model will be in the showroom soon. 16 inch rim, no leather seat, no spoiler and accessories, no CD changer...shud be quite cheap. Heard from the SA it shud be around RM 105K. If cannot wait for GT, go for GS loh.

Yeah, heard about it from dcspeed. The cars are already here, ex-stock. So, if u cant wait 4 d GT, then go for d GS.

A quick note, the GS will come with the normal suspension and i dont think the mech's out there can fine tune or mod the GS suspension to what the GT has, therefore, if u want the GT suspension, then wait. If u're getting the car for family use, then by all means, get the GS.
Just my thought.

it could be the 1.6 version which is much more cheaper than that. I don't think they will bring in the strip down version of GT version. Buyer in the region of more than 100k will be less then those buyer of 80K and less region.

Bro,
SA confirmed tat it's d strip down version, it's 2.0 with paddle shift minus other accessories. Current buyers of GT were given an option to go for the GS as it's ex-stock.

So basically the difference would be:
1. No CD Changer
2. Softer suspension setup
3. 16" Rims
4. No leather seats
5. No bodykit
6. No spoiler
7. No strut bar???
All these for 10k...hmm..
Anything else?

i would say the GS is not worth for those do not plan to mod the car.
however, heavy mod heads would prefer GS to have them customised to their preference.
the current GT owner need to watch out for their spoiler though--- high demand item!

Dont worry bro, for them to take our spoilers, they'll have to use a saw or something, as d spoilers are bolted on, n not stuck on with tape.

Rantai besi will b a gd idea also...

5k? wallau weh... but possible.. if spoiler+skirting... i wonder how come nobody review that.. our price inclusive of nice spoiler+skirting where as civic fd.. with out those... remember the mugen-version-blue coloured FD? 140k.. just for ori mugen skirting+spoiler+17" mugen rims.. for our GT..really a steal what.. original ABS quality skirting meh...
but me really love our spoiler.. really helps on aerodynamic...

i could check it out thru history. service center got part list for e9, but it might just be rough figure on how much it cost for our new version of evo...
when new evo spoiler added, i think vorte gen is needed to improve aero of car... but current spoiler i dunno wanna add or not scare effect make car worse...

Yo bro, my SA told me about this few days ago. But according to him, the launch of this lower spec Lancer will be anytime after Raya once MMC finalize the pricing. However, priority will be giving to those customers who already booked the new Lancer GT.
QUOTE(shithappens @ Oct 11 2007, 04:56 PM)

btw....i was informed that mmc will bring in a lower spec lancer 2.0 early in 2008.....something like minus leather seats (giving fabric seats), minus racing spoiler, minus sports suspension and with 16" rims......pricing tentative <RM100k.
can anybody confirm this??? the current buyers (those whose car is still undelivered by then) will be given the option to change from the 2.0 gt to this new lower spec car.......anybody heard anything to this tune????

The SA just called.
Rim is 16"
No leather seat.
Others all the same, including paddle shifts :)
But I doubt on 2 differentiation la. Must be some other small items not included.
Good also save some thousands, then later upgrade to 17" rim which improve low to mid band accerelation I prefer.
The best is... no need to wait so long !

It's just tat? Comes with all skirts n spoilers as well? Hmmm....d Nappa leathers, can b done locally, so no worries there.

Oct 12 2007, 07:22 AM
lets no jump to the conclusion yet. They can still play around with the spec and accessories based on the buyer respond. For me the skirts and spoilers has to be from Japan rather than local made which doesn't last.

OK guys... one more thing don't have is the "Aeroplane Tail". Skirting still there. Not sure how to post pictures here, if you are interested to see some pictures of GLS version (taken in Spore). At least can see how the 16" rim looks on the Lancer and interior beige color with wood trim. MMM might not offer exactly similar package, but you get the idea.

Singapore has 3 verson, the GT, Sports and Elegance. As you see here:
Click to view attachment Click to view attachmentthe difference between sports and elegance is the body kit and alloys 17" vs 16". The rear spoiler for the Sports is using the lip spoiler variant instead of the wing like the GT.
the GS if launch here should be similar to the elegance me think without the leather seat, cruise control, keyless entry and auto light and rain sensors.

If it is RM70-80k, GS is totally worth it. You have more than 40k for mod.
Furthermore only at that price, MMM can compete against other 1.6l!
