Well, not in the real sense of the word "drag race" but a standing start agreement on 1st to reach next toll plaza.

It was a fun-kinda-thing with my 30+yo nephew who owns a red S40.

Started at toll plaza after Plaza Phoenix in Cheras, to end at toll plaza at Sg Long.

Don't want to tell detailed entire story of my suffering, enough to say I lost big time. Start was very competitive but (I think) about 200-300 meters after start, S40 just got, stayed and then pulled ahead. His S40 was not modified in any way.

use manual mode try to keep your RPM around 5k-6k range.

Current/latest 2.4L S40 model, bout 2 years old.

freddie, I used manual (u must've read my complaint about d Lancer's non-1-touch-window-windup thread, right?... get d connection?), floored it all d way, never upped gears every time unless close to 6k...

Just cannot run away fr d truth I suppose...

S40 has impressive propulsion spec: 170bhp + 230Nm torque.

With a body that actually smaller than LGTC (and safe to say lighter too), it's basically a forgone conclusion isn't it?

S40 2.4L, sigh..of coz la, yah, accept d fact. If it's a 2.0L, then different story la.

i bet that S40 is heavier than our lancer, that's why you still can get close on initial pickup.

but then again, horses still win regardless on weight on long run.

Try it with a V50, you will be lagi dissapointed.

Anybody tried with the T5 versions?

After tested with variant 2.0L car and come to conclusion that our GT is more suitable as family car instead of
mid race car.....aiya....

0~100km/h = Sluggish
Mid range = o.k lah
Top speed = after 195km onwards is very slow...
Town drive experience = great

bro, t5 smoked me last two weeks at elevated hway. he even gave me change to start first after paying tolls. what i remember, when the t5 start to tailing and overtooks me, i quickly look for my handphone and talking by myself alone maa.. cover line then he flew like 10 cars distance in front of me
