It suppose to be based on Mitsubishi 380, which suppose to be sold in Australia to challenge the Fords and Holden but failed.
How the 380 looks like:

no spec available at the moment, but expected to be powered by 2L V6
released date: to be confirmed.

380 is powered by 3.8L V6 with kerb weight 1625kg.. isn't 2L too small/under power for 380 body??

i saw this during kmy Brunei trip in this week. OMG, damn darn ugly lo., like a longer wheelbase GLX Lancer. (previous model lancer). but the old lancer looks better coz proportioned. but a longer wheel base one, cannpot make it. i also saw new Altis there already. very small size. the front looks very cool but the rear.... disspaointed@!

Well, Proton doesnt hav many choices...current Perdana's sales is very much dead already. It desparately need a Perdana replacement. Mitsu 380 is also not selling well...Mitsu is happy to sell the cars to Proton and let Proton put on its own logo lah.

Well.... Mitsu just announced recently that the plant in Australia making the 380 is closing down soon so timing wise is perfect for picking up a new platform for Proton...
edit: the oz sports versions look better than stock...

'Sebijik' should nicly summed up the car in respect of its look to the donor car.
I don't get too 'offended' by its appearance as the front look like the new Kia Optima, speaking of which the garden variety one retails at 103k. The non Novus version is very well kitted already so if Proton' doesn't want to have a head-on confrontation, it is well adviced to price it at least 10k below.
Or they can go to 'daddy' and ask for 'protection'

hey all my bros, sry for so long did not active in this forum. I need time to settle down and so on. Currently i at Sydney to further my degree, i stay at Baulkam Hills with my aunty and i go to my Uni at city by train.
May be i will buy a small car over here, so that i can park at station and go city by train

. But seriously, Mitsubishi can Honda quite less over here if compare to Toyota, Mazda, Holdan, etc. I also dont know why! around here all drive old version lancer include this 380 as well. So far,i just saw 1 new Black lancer over here

.
btw, my dad will drive my Black GT because he selling his 5 series, and want to wait for the new 5 series.
U all take care ya, i will continue active =)

k car savvy @30k 2 door neo @45k

i just cant understand the team in PROTON! WHAT R THEY DOING? It's such a shame after more than 20 yrs n wt so much support fr the buyer(sorry, it s not support but sucking buyer's blood) they still cant do things rite!
its such an ugly car. it s true, even d present PV6 n previous SEi looks better. they just dont know what is marketing all about. they should learn fr the Korean how to market a car. although they make car only between 30-40yrs ago but they r so successful esp d last 10yrs ago.
personally i own 2 Korean's cars but they r CBU(imported). the quality is really different. after tis experience, i will never buy CKD car anymore.

well cbu is always better than ckd, but u got to look at where the cbu from, cbu indon, thai, japan, korea, india, china, germany...... list goes on... place origin make difference too...

thats true, we must also look at the source of CBU. example the CBU Camry n Altis is fr Thailand.Likewise CBU Chevrolet is also fr d Siamland. there s difference between the parts n components used in the car. those CBU fr Siam o Indon o Philipine even Africa are their own local assembly programme.
whereas Japan,Korea o Germany CBU r cars originally built in their homeland. so guys, think for yrself. as for me my last three cars are CBUs fr its origin homeland. 2004 KIA Picanto fr Korea, was just launched n sells like hot cake esp in Europe, 2006 KIA Sportage fr Korea, a very good 4WD released in 2005 received very positive feedback fr Europe n US. And now here i am, 2008 MISUBISHI LANCER GT FROM JAPAN, a phenomenal fantastic spotrs machine which won 2007 car of the year. i m proud 2b one of d owner.
after owning 2 original CBUs, i can testify 2u the difference in built quality. LancerGT, no DOUBT!!!

Price makes a difference...Mitsu priced the GTs very competitively. Try asking Honda or Toyota to price their cars like that, then the perception of the public is reversed e.g. If you price ALtis at RM95...then the quality perception of the public towards it will go down...pyshology...sigh...

well agree. even cbu japan mari not 100% but still better
