car price r set to go up from 2 / 3rd Q onwards with new models new facelift new spec, plus this compulsary airbag? for sure conspermed price will increase...

though G might says lower tax... but if u r in my shoes n c the AP n Custom clearance, cars r getting lower tax but price still going up...

the logic? someone is squeezing our ball with force, those with no balls the G is squeezing ur hubby/bf balls...

so be prepared for higher fuel, higher interest........

this is one lame rules...to make a rich man more richer...of course la later must install at authorised airbag installer...bla2...bla2...must follow spec...then how the enforcement wanna check the car got airbag or not? hit the car to the wall??? we just put a sticker or something on the dashboard... SRS airbag...sure got lepas on roadblock...lol...

you guys need to chill... when airbags not compulsory you slam the govt for not putting in standards.

I see it as a step forward in car safety as we're lagging behind in safety standards in automotive industry.

its a good effort but lets see if the gov can enforce it or not..

this is a decision in principle so there's no legislation yet from the sounds of it... hope they make it a law...

there are a lot of things that we should commence the government for their effort to raise the safety standard. But how committed are they to ensuring that this takes place? What happened to their enforcement on backseat passenger seat belts? I once covered a press conference by JPJ and Proton and I still remember what the JPJ director-general Datuk Suret Singh said, that they would issue tickets to the offenders without hesitant. It has been two years since. What happened to that?

Seriously I dont understand some people. When the rulings are not around we make a h*ll of a noise saying we are backward compared to other nations. When people want to put the rulings into place, we say it' a no brainer rule, want to make other people rich and what not. Alternatively, i suggest you CHOOSE to have a positive mind and take it in a better manner. Yes i agree that we are lacking in enforcement. What we can do as a responsible citizens to this nation is to make the people in power not to rest on their laurels. Make noise to them. Tell them they are not doing their job. Write to papers. Dont just make a kedai kopi noise as they cant hear you. If one choose the latter, i suggest tak payah kecoh2 la. buat bingit je telinga je.

I always wonder why people dont make noise about the rear passenger seat belt rulings. Is it because they just want to find fault? Or is it because they too can get away with it when their rear passengers dont buckle up...?

All parties are entitled to their opinions. For me, the one who feels that the G give a good performance, why not just support them. But on the other hand, they may have their own reasons. At the era of Pak Lah, I still remember that he would like to install the railings on the left and right lorries and trucks to prevent the motorcyclist dragged underneath. He got the idea after returning from a visit to Japan. The reporters wrote the article about it but was not implemented till today. Sebenarnya, mungkin banyak pihak dah bosan dengan janji-janji dari pihak G sendiri. For me, I remain neutral. I'm a video journalist and this is just my opinion. As long as I'm not against the ethics of journalism.

Beg udara hanya sesuai untuk kereta salon baru: Kong
KUALA LUMPUR: Menteri Pengangkutan, Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha, berkata pemasangan beg udara hanya sesuai bagi kereta salon baru yang dikeluarkan di Malaysia pada tahun depan.

Katanya, tidak seperti pemasangan tali pinggang keledar, pemasangan beg udara mestilah dibuat ketika kereta itu dibuat dan memasangnya di kereta lama adalah tidak praktikal.

Kong berkata, menurut penyelidikan yang dijalankan oleh Institut Penyelidikan Keselamatan Jalan Malaysia (MIROS) beg udara itu sesuai untuk kereta salon dan bukan kenderaan jenis lain seperti lori dan bas serta sesetengah pacuan empat roda kerana ketinggian, tempat duduk dan reka bentuk adalah berlainan.

Beliau berkata, kajian MIROS juga menunjukkan beg udara membantu menyelamatkan nyawa dan mengurangkan kemungkinan mengalami kecederaan serius dan kemalangan jalan dan tidak mengurangkan kadar kemalangan.

"Kita tidak dapat elak sebarang kemalangan kerana banyak sebab yang menyumbang pada punca kemalangan, tetapi apa yang kita boleh buat ialah untuk mengurangkan kecederaan dan kemungkinan menjadi sebab kematian," katanya.

Kong berkata, lebih 50 peratus kereta yang dikeluarkan PROTON dan PERODUA juga sudah dipasang dengan beg udara.
"Ia juga menunjukkan bahawa kereta yang dipasang dengan beg udara diterima dengan baik oleh pengguna," katanya sambil menambah bahawa pembuat kereta kini mengkaji untuk menyediakannya pada semua kereta mereka.

Kong berkata, walaupun harga kereta yang dipasang dengan beg udara adalah lebih mahal, keselamatan pengguna kereta adalah lebih penting dan nyawa tidak dapat dinilaikan.

"Pembuat juga berjanji untuk melaksanakan tanggungjawab sosialnya dengan membantu kerajaan mengurangkan kadar kematian dan kecederaan dalam kemalangan jalan. Mereka akan mengenakan bayaran minimum bagi keretanya yang dipasang dengan beg udara," katanya. - BERNAMA

hahah ..... human in nature love to argue about their differences .... but afterall we all shared the same common sense ... in this case .. we want the G to be more proactive in doing his job .. but sometimes .. it just too little or too late for them to act ....... ppl will never stop arguing even the bad o good decisions to be made or to be ruled .. even by the G o the other side ..

well .. life without argument wud be a life with full of boredom ... all things have to follow certain rules .. at certain height/degree..... other than that wud be called ... weird .. o counter culture ...

well guys .. its good for the G to impose this regulations for the sakes of the users of our great nationwide road safety .... but .... we're hoping this regulations to be implemented in more articulate ways ... in more well manners... im not looking for a perfect systems ... but trying the best as they could is the thing i want to hear and see ...

Bila G kata wajib pasang airbag- people will say G no brainer, some people will make money, car price will increase.
Bila G xwajibkan pasang airbag- people will say G not keep international standard, ketinggalan zaman, sell low spec car wt high price, G think that rakyat's life so cheap.
Bila G saman org xpasang airbag/ seatbelt- people will say G rule to drastic for them, they need more time to adapt, G only know how to make money from rakyat hard earned money, rakyat say they they don hav money, G are too strict wt rakyat, saman lama pun xbayar2.
Bila G not strict in summoning people who not follow rule- people will say G know only talk wt no implementation, G only hangat2 tahi ayam.
Bila G bagi diskaun saman- people will say G not fair to people who pay earlier, G will encourage rakyat pay late until there is diskaun.
Bila G xbagi diskaun- people say G not try collect income from summon, G very strict & not think about rakyat hardship.

PS: In conclusion our Govt alwayz at fault no matter what they do. So topple the Govt, lets put USA govern our country just like Iraq & Afghanistan. :p

no lar, in conclusion, we always say G wan make money out of everything, hahaha...
