Hey, it's definitely a threat, even with 125hp, 0-100km/h in 10.6s, i would have bought this if it was available when I was in my 20's.

No worry lah, gen2 cps got only 127hp@6,500rpm and 150Nm torque@4,500rpm (show higher numbers bcoz of higher rpm, not on real omph), even though cps+vim cure some its torque curve problem, pick-up still no match vs mitsu (a lot of gen2 kakis cant wait to throw away the Campro and throw in the real 4g63). Watch for the top speed lah...CamTakPro Gen2 can do 190km/h, (some even do 200km/h)...CPS likely can break 200km/h mark.

If u look at the claimed 0-100km/h time, it's in 10.6s, d last time we checked, we could only get 9.8s, n most were in 10s. They can stay behind our ass like glue la.

No doubt, gen2 CPS is stronger than the gen2 CamTakPro...but still a distance to go to catch up with Lancer and Civic.

About the 0-100 time, our methodology is not scientific.

last time i read the Lancer vs Civic comparison in AutocarASEAN, their tested 0-100 time is 9.2s...our drivers may also need to shed some lbs.

well if this gen2 come out in beginning, i think more ppl bought gen2 liao... now they need more homework to gain back confident...

Nope, its designed by Lotus (not Proton!) and it basically comes with cam switching (for improved power) and a variable intake manifold (for improved torque). Sounds good, but their reliability still needs to be proven.

just imagine mivec in proton engine which was design by lotus with some info from mitsubishi engine :) wat i heard when campro launch years ago is tat it was resign by lotus with basic design of mitsubishi engine, tat y, when campro fits to the car, tat car can also fits mitsubishi engine :) which is not surprising me as copy here n there is best way n fastest way to success which we haven't see in the proton now, beside they're catching up the to sell more in our market, good sign for them, persona, new waja n blm, this 3 rocks for proton now... hope it continue :)

Proton do Campro like playing Lego...

1st, CamTakPro, got so so hp, lousy torque...
Next, CamTakPro + IAFM (aka VIM), got so so hp, better torque...
Finally, CamTakPro + VIM + CPS, got better hp at higher rpm, better torque.

I test drove Gen2, pickup sucks...Persona, pickup better but still sucks...New Saga, pickup sucks...

Not test any CPS yet, but looking forward to do it.

I'm really torn between liking or hating the new Gen 2. Part of me is proud that Proton has come up with an engine with respectable power output (similar to the Suzuki Swift Sport). Another part of me is just afraid of getting smoked by these sub RM60k cars...

The interior is a step up for sure from previous version - nice seats too!
Overall sporty theme is nice and different from the Waja and Persona.

The impressiv part, the dyno chart shows its manual box only makan 12% of power (110hp on wheel vs 125hp on crank)...if our gt gearbox has tat kinda number, seaweed can kiss our ass liao!!!

that wan can really give our lancer a run for money...and also take on suzuki swift sport 1.6....

Ha ha, still a big NO to proton...after few months, the car may give u free nyik-nyok kling-klung music everywhere, free suspension & chasis vibration massage, engine plays suddenly up & down macam mau mati tak mati game wif u, all lights blipping out of control like disco and finally, the BIG finale of bursting into flaming glory firework stunt....of course, all these will come together with the industry-best owner-also-cannot-masuk pwr window pwr door lock security system.

Why bother to compare ourselve with Proton? I personally saw this Gen 2 CPS before i booked my lancer. I can only say that photographic techniques have improved over years and i was so impressed by the photos taken on this Gen 2 CPS. Sitting in the car, the feel is totally different. Then again, we "should not" expect much from something sub 60k. Of course, we should not even compare our > 100k rides to this car.

I don't like to be cucuked by ppl from the back...that's why i changed my old C200 to Lancer after kena makan by swift sport&civic mugen. Sometimes even tailed by city vtec. Pai seh....but nowadays with our paddle shift, i don't think these cars can easily smoke us though they may be able to give us a nice tail. Sometimes there are some big brothers like Scooby / Type R / M5...etc which come to my tail... i will try my best to pull away...and if i fail...i will show them a big thumb with my heart saying...yeah...you are much better. What will happen if a CPS tails me? I will do the same thing. If they can overtake me at 210km/hr then i will definitely give them a big salute:)

Nonetheless, safety always my first concern on the road. Hehe. I would not go siao with anyone if traffic condition does allow me to. So bro, CPS/not CPS...why we bother? Unless we want to get a second car. Good choice indeed for the amount of money.
