Guys, I have modified lube.oil's post and you can now put down your name on the items that you are interested and let's see what Christopher can do for us.

Lube.oil - I have edited your first post to accommodate the list of items that our members are interested in and also the number of members that are interested in certain products.

Des, maybe just change lube.oil's OP to include poll for all d items he listed. Then members here just vote for what they're interested in n we (incl. lube.oil) can check to see which are the most popular ones, how many interested and he can consider to give discount or not and how much oso.

Better than keep editing the post, right?

that way easier, but we won't know who wants what. and also since this is a public area of the forum, anyone might also just click on it for fun...

hmmm.... tat goes back to my suggestion on "special 1st post" where members can add their name on some list, save Mods time and Shortens loading time.

and there goes back my same reply: if everyone is editing the same post at the same time, some entries may get lost...

Thanks for the suggestion.

But I don't like to do things twice whenever possible. If i were to put a poll now and yes, we might be getting a rough idea on which items are the most popular among the club members. But when you come to think of it, how many of them are genuine buyers and how many are not?

Let's say we have gotten the club discount from lube.oil, then again we have to put up another list to see how many genuine members are interested in getting it. Isn't it a waste of time? I personally think that what I'm doing now will give lube.oil an exact figure on the number of interested buyers for certain products so that he can work out the best deal for all of us. Don't you think so?

Btw, this is my working style and please accept my apologies if it doesn't match yours.

no worries koonx, we have been doing that since the forum started and we have not missed out anyone till now. Kudos to all the moderators for their hard work and effort spent in taking care of the forum.

So, let the moderators do their job and we will definitely won't miss you out in any bulk purchase or events biggrin.gif

Well -- and the following should not be interpreted as disrespectful to LGTC members -- how do you know if any of the LGTC members that indicated their interest are (1) genuine buyers; OR (2) genuinely interested?

There's a difference between the two.

Don't forget another thing; human beings are prone to changing their minds for whatever the reason and just on the whim. I may say I am interested in the scuff plates (and I can say I can "genuinely afford" it) but if I pull out last minute for reasons I do not think anyone here needs to know, what happens then?

Don't apologize; I understand what u mean. It is never easy but I suggest that admins here must just keep a closer watch on such potential/eventual "bulk purchase" threads that benefit LGTC members. It's hard, I know. But referring to my above para response, there is never any guarantee.

In response to terion's comment in this spilt thread: There is no need for any supplier to know which specific/individual LGTC member is interested in any of their products; they just want the number. IMVHO, I think it is down to LGTC to govern this, be the middle man so to speak. Yah, more work :)

Reverend, I really appreciate your feedback and I know where you are coming from.

But again, there is a committee in the club and the members are chosen by the club members. So leave it to the committee members to do the necessary. Even the President and VP have to listen to their opinions before making any decision to anything in the club.

Hope this helps.
terion
not sure why u need to make it sound so complicated since we (mods and admins) are already doing that, its their job...

p/s: Hope u will not pull out at the last minute since i see ur name is also on the list. whistling.gif

Dun understand why u brought this up. I m merely providing a suggestion as a LGTC member, have no intention of causing any trouble nor being disrespectful to the capabilities of this club's committee.

terion, not making it complicated; just hopefully making a suggestion that the committe may not have considered prior, that's all.

If this is something I should not care about as a member, then my apologies. Just trying to help make LGTC a better site. No offence.

I'm "genuinely interested". I oso said I was interested in the wing LEDs but desmond didn't see it fit to include wing LEDs as an option (since, understandably, I was d only one... ya, they're very expensive... mayb if LGTC can do something about this... get d point? ) biggrin.gif

we appreciate members giving suggestions and all but somehow rev, ur posts and replies always seems to be "challenging" (not sure if its the right word) the mods and admins...

Maybe its the way that u word ur response... its too official ( not sure if this the right word too). Try posting in a more casual manner, see how the other members post their replies...

In ur feed-d-family job, how often have u tried to speak in a casual manner when that's not what u want to do?

I m a member of this club n I assume it's OK to speak my mind in a forthright manner (some times, anyway). If this is viewed as "challenging" (and I do know what u mean by that word) then perhaps the onus is not on me to change to a more "casual" style" to "fall in line" but to accept that we're all a a big family, without any ego coming into the picture ("This is my site, don't tell me what to do"), that LGTC can accept my frank (if n maybe wrong) views as what they are -- opinions in a no BS manner.

Do not be annoyed if some of posts r challenging per se. Be annoyed if they are without reason.

My humble opinion, of course.

LOL! Dun worry bro, the short of it is : Dun take what I post too seriously. I don't know u guys, that's the main thing. Do not take what I post as "challenging", dun take it so serious, just take it as "Oh boy, another wise-guy suggestion... like as though we dun know ady".

Never take what I post as "challenging".

[edit] Aiyo, got "warning" ady. Only expressing my POV n giving opinions/suggestions -- everyone free to vote mah, thats why we get d election results... not everyone has d same POV. This a great site, I wouldn't be here actively participating if I didn't think so lar...

ROTFL! Ya, I tend to do that alot, going on and on in one single sentence until nobody knows wtf I'm talking about! :) Had various email interviews with various 3D graphics gurus over at Beyond3D (check d "Interviews" page... eh, anyone here interested in 3D graphics ar?) whereby some of them just forgot what my original question was and asked "Can you repeat that, or simplify?". Haha! :)
alxand_mitsubishi
