have attended the F1 in Sepang 3 times so far. all 3 times I won the tickets from contest. Once I even won a Grand stand. I admit watching from TV gives you a much better view of all cars but the feel and sound watching it live is something you really gotta do it at least once !!! The F1 engine roaring sound is damn damn LOUD! not even the normal ear plug will do the job of protecting your ears. I used a industrial plug.

i can't explain with words.... the crowd, the noise, the aroma, the ambiance... etc...etc...etc...
you don't get this from your lcd/plasma screen

lemme put it this way;
a) watching F1 on your tele = driving your brand spanking new Lancer GT (cool ey?)
b) watching live from the track side = driving a Lancer GT, fitted with all the mod's you can think of & Jessica Alba is sitting next to you

Hamilton won in Australia. Definitely going to Sepang and hopefully a McLaren 1-2 finish. Been to Sepang to watch the race for 8 times since 2000.

yeah definitely agree with you, the atmosphere at the track on race day is some thing u can't feel from TV. the engine from the TV is not even one tenth of the live engine sound. You hear it you get hot blooded !

cannot lah...now Jessica Alba already pregnant liao..perut buncit already.
I still can recall the memory of seeing F1 car braking in front of me at the sharp corner and accelarate away, all in all within 4 meters away only...you could practically feel the sound wave and speed.

Precisely! Anyone interested with F1 "must" experience the "live" atmosphere at least once. I sat at Grand Stand F, one of the grandstand closest to the track, just a stone throw away. Its incredible. Not the best spot to see top speed, but the best spot to see the cars when they slow down at Turn 7 of Sepang.
You won't be able to see much on straightline, they're too fast, even at the turns, I've difficulty turning my head back and fort when one after another passes by. However, the trafic to Sepang on race day is a nightmare.

My personal preference is never to sit at "top speed seats" but one of the twisty corners; want to see daring overtaking or, even better, crashes! :)

Yeay....that's the way to go....D3...I will support you till the end. The SG nite race is challenging, high ISO, fast focusing lens, flashgun are necessary for the race. Go get the D3 and add two 00 at the back to make it looks like D300, then no need to worry abt someone divorcing you lor

MMM... nite race in Spore... reminds me of a thought playing at the back of mind.
Admins... convoy to TT for the Spore F1? All costs on-ur-own, of course, but if this happens hopefully club can arrange for race tickets.
Haven't been to Spore for quite a while, may bring family down there.

bro, since you have a good idea, why not you take the lead in organizing it? Let's see how many members are interested in this event. And again, i'm sure our JB members are interested in that too.

U guys better plan and confirm fast. I believe hotels in Spore already fully booked by now (unless u hv family/friends there to bunk in). And JB could be having a similar fate. On top of that, travelling from JB to S'pore will be a serious problem. Can't imagine how its gonna be on the causeways (Woodlands and Tuas). And mind you, roads in Spore could be just as bad. They already have heavy traffic on normal days, with this event, more M'sian cars travelling there + road closures for the race.

Wifey (works in travel agent) not in town. Will check with her regarding hotel accommodations for the very night of the race but the more immediate issue is that I doubt she can help in any way regarding tickets and I sure don't have any connections in this regard... so how....? Vicky has already stated the current situations... perhaps I made a wishful-thinking post.... too late to come up with an idea as
brilliant as mine :)
For F1 events/races, we need to plan way ahead especially if it is a group thingy. Which is to say we should start planning now for
next years Spore F1!

i believe flashguns will not be permitted as it'll distract/blind the drivers....safety issue...in anycase the flash range will not be sufficient enuf to reach the cars on the track....surely will be a challenging task.......
