Finally my favourite mag came out with the full report of the GT
in the latest October issue... and I must say...well done to all of us who
have faith in the car.

Wouldn't want to spoil your reading
pleasure, but the ending/conclusion is..
quote "...
Still, the Lancer makes the best of this with a killer package
that makes it the best out there right now - no questions and hands down"
BTW saw a black GT in Ampang just now and of course we flashed each other...
anyone of you guys?

Its in fact a localised version of the BBC (UK) Top Gear magazine...far better than any local car mag in my humble opinion...and its only RM10

I think that will take some time since europe only getting the new lancer end of the year or early next year...

no need to wait lor for the UK version....this review is good enuf and well balanced and not a hint of bias towards H brand summore...
the moral of the story or should I say review is... for normal town driving - use D. For spirited drives, the magnesium paddle shifters are a delight to use.

Just read it today, and it doesn't look like a repeat. If you've read it you would know that the whole mag team were going on a road trip all over malaysia for holiday and also for them to test out cars too.
So happen their intended car (a lotus excige) couldn't be released since it was need for the MME Race so they manage to get a Lancer from MMM. This issue was all about great roads to drive from all over the world hence the road trip/holiday theme...

Yup..not a repeat. And this issue sure has so many nice and exotic roads to try our GT on. I would love to drive on one in Scotland...

I went to bookstore yesterday. Got lancer GT review in motoring (sg). another one a local mag (cant remember) review the LGT on a trip to genting. Autocar Asean August also got Lancer EX GT review (Sg version).
But so far only the the Sept issue has comparo LGT vs. Seeweed
Few difference that I noticed between My and Sg version. Sg got refrigerated glovebox, HID, Cruise control (the left side is the MP3 button, the right side for cruise control) and as everyone know 650W rockford fosgate unit

Imo, one of the main traits which is repeated a number of times in the review was the performance doesn't quite match the aggresive styling especially in D mode. The saving grace was the paddle shifters mode that was a joy to use and made the drive more engaging (the reason most of us bought the car - engaging).
The best part from the review was, the aggresive styling alone will 'open' the way for you

half of the time! For the other half, we'll deal with them using the paddles

I always thought the "peti ais" in any cars were just a compartment where some of the cold air from the aircond goes and chill it up.
Never thought it was a real refrigerator in there...
