This is the confirmed specs. (as far as the 2.5 goes) from Berjaya Mazda. The pics are of the pearl white while the lilia silver is not shown. Launching would be before Accord's 22nd April Launch.
The spec. is also confirmed by Mekar Wheels (Naza Sub) but their pricing, as usual and always, higher at 185K for the 2.5.
Now, waiting for the official price announcement from the official distributor (Bermaz) and see how it goes.

Yeah with BOSE sound system, sunroof, HID, traction control and 6 airbags, 140k+ is a darn good deal.
It's going to be a steep fight between the 6 and new Accord. Of which, the latter will still win due to the brand image.

Jan999,
Is this the car you have been looking for? 5th Gear had the cheek to compare it with the Lancer GT (both diesel versions) Handling the same as the GT, except quieter, smoother and fuel efficient.
Btw, the M6 is Euro5 compliant which is explains why the bhp and Nm figures are comparatively low compared to the other direct competitiors.

Hmmm, I like the current Mata6 more...definitely like my gt much much more
This new Mata6 feels like the Seaweed...thy both look sci-fi futuristic. At 1st look, thy look interesting bcoz thy look different frm others...but like the Seaweed, after some time, the uniquely unconventional look begins to feel increasingly "odd" and out of fashion...the car is space-age looking, but dun have space-age performance.
As long as cars run on road and on 4 wheels, I prefer classic looking cars more, like mustang and camero. Fashion comes and go...but classics never die!!!

Hmmm, better than gt or not, I cant say for sure. However, Mazda is famous for their ZOOM ZOOM handling...current Mazda6 got the best handling in its class, beating Accord and Camry.

The press release is this weekends. We will know confirm price by then la.
Need to test drive and compare with GT see how the performance :)
I guess M6 is said to be more comfy is bec of its wheelbase which is longer than GT (2770mm vs 2630mm)

I agree with alxand, toyota is dead...
vios, rush, innova, not selling...
only thing that seems to sell is the camry, not to say that there are more NEW buyers, but becos of the AP holdup, limited units coming in every month, hence seem moving...
new altis can go fly kite....
JAN999,
I'm thinking of the M6 too, handling is claimed to be as good as the GT. Test drive not available yet.
here is the UK brouchure, we are getting the 4 door luxury sport version.

I test drove the previous version - both the 2.0 and 2.3 versions - the ride is quiet, smooth and sporty too.
And power in the 2.3 is nice. Immediate response and good acceleration.
I'm sure the new one will be even better from what I've read so far.

If i have the budget, i would go for M6 than Accord or Toyota. It's a very fine car, and improved compared to previous version.

well as old ppl saying, honda n toyota r mass selling car, thus they gain in volume, while mitsubishi n mazda is lower volume player thus they r more niche in market n better in quality,
problem is tat it does not seem so in our market when the price is a factor, we can have a cheaper price for our car n u get a lancer quality, or price it higher n u get a mazda quality... so it's either u choose comfi or choose prici :)

Eldiabio,
The outgoing M6 was reviewed as a car with good handling and sportiness. However, 3 things were noted to be poor for this car from many reviews: -
1) Road noise;
2) Wind noise; and
3) Engine noise.
The new M6 is CLAIMED to rectify this problem. In Motortrader, a reader tested the new M6 2.5 and commented that it is quieter than the current camry. We'll wait and see. Launch date has been postphoned till May 08. They want to launch 4 new line-up at the same time. As for Naza, they are proceeding with their own launch date (without permission from Bermaz - the official Mazda distributor for Malaysia). I'm very wary of their pricing, since they always price what they want!!

donyong,
I guess it depends on what its compared to. Yes, probably if compared to camry - since it had firmer suspension, 17"s, potenza RE050 tyres and dual exhaust pipe system - but to me even the previous version was ok. It suited its more sporty nature without being too intrusive. Most of the camry's I've sat in or driven (stock) roll too much for my driving style but nothing beats the smooth ride around town.
i saw this new mazda 6 at NAZA WORLD today..and when i first look at it...hahaa..GT IS BETTER!!!!
it was not so nice when u see the real 1,compare to the pic...
by the way, they will be an ASTON on the road soon...

You saw the 2.5 version or the 2.0 version? The 2.0 version is said to be VERY DISSAPOINTING!!!!
Last I heard, the 2.5 version is kept at the basement, the 2.0 kept at the showroom.

i think is 2.0L, when i first look at it im not interested already , so didnt see carefully, and i had sat inside the car, is quite normal inside...unlike GT,so sporty..hehee

but it longer than our GT, n hard to handle it..like the honda accord, i juz got some scracthes on it because it was too long n big for me...my bro will scold me later...

Ya lo, all toyota, honda and Mazda try to fool us wif those 2.0L Camry, Accord and 6...Seriously, 2.0L in a midsize family sedan is like baby heart for fat man body...heart failure can be very soon. Tats y i always tell ppl, if buy an accord, must go for the 3.5L V6...i think camry and 6 should bring in their V6 muscle also.

The M6 is same cat with the Accord and Camry. 2L is not suitable, under-power and bad FC. Both Accord and Camry 2.4L is very good. And when it comes to handling, the Accord is even better than the Camry. Therefore, if going for the M6, hv to go for the 2.5L. A friend of mine drives the previous M6 (before they down-grade the specs) the chili-red one. Its a beauty!
