i got mine last year Nov/Dec macam tu la... my wife got it for 1599 (i think) inc another dualshock controller.. but no games la.. its the 40G version and white in colour.

so far ok la.. bila masa baru dapat terus beli game-game baru la... tapi tak leh nak sustain la beli game hampir RM200 satu.. mampus nasib baik ada orang sewakan game, RM50 satu bulan, main la berapa banyak game u boleh habis main...hehe

actually i nak dapatkan Wii dulu tapi in the end beli PS3 ini sebab nak main Rock Band masa tu... dah pun beli game tu tapi slack la... guitar dia rosak, tak leh nak connect... so main kejap je pakai drum set dengan mic... pass tu kasi balik kat kedai tu... lepas dia dapat stock baru harga pun naik.. so i kata tak payah la...

takde lagi la... blueray ini masih susah nak crack kut...

60gb version lama, tak dibuat lagi, tapi versi ini ada built in PS2 system, so u boleh main ps2 game + dia ada slot memory untuk baca flash memory, memory stick, etc. + dia ada 4 USB socket

40gb punya tak leh main langsung game ps2, USB socket 2 je (tapi boleh tambah pakai USB hub) dan tak de slot untuk memory card semua (tapi boleh pakai memory card reader untuk PC yang murah punye).

Hey dude... I bought a 60GB PS3 as a b/day present for my son... I was actually very torn between a 360 and a PS3 but 2 things swung in favor of the PS3 :

1) that red circle of death problem many 360 has;
2) Metal Gear Solid 4

I haven't had a single problem with the PS3 except for the fact that I do need to set up my home wireless network so that it works with the PS3 but I have just been a bit too lazy.

Blu-Ray is in, HD DVD is out... that makes for another plus in the PS3's direction.

Video games have always been expensive and it sucks that our Govt isn't doing enough about this.... while rentals can be obtained, in the long run, they can be more expensive actually... so what I do is to make sure I buy a game that is a knock-out title... I bout the PS3 in Feb... I only bought 3 games so far (COD4, Ratchet&Clank:ToD and Winning Eleven)...

Graphics-wise, I think both consoles are comparable... COD4 and R&C are superb...

I'm a big MGS fan... can't wait for MGS4 esp. after viewing the various trailers...

plus it's more cheaper and pirate games pun dah banyak maaa....any respon...any one....

thats why in malaysia now more gamers into XBox 360 then PS3, but i think PS3 is starting to pick up already.... few of my friends all just got them...

plus the ps3 can play blu-ray disc, the xbox only can play hd-dvd which is now dead

bro the reason zen got 24" is because he can go Full HD with that, u should go for 24" too...

The 360 has had many units with a so-far-unrevealed-by-MS (or maybe MS themselves don't even know wtf is the problem) whereby the lights at the console all light up red then the console basically dies. Some say its heat problem, some say it's the CPU problem, some say it's the graphics unit problem so I say just shove it and I got the PS3.

its a heat issue la that... the heat is so intense that it melts the solder of the CPU off the the board... or something like that la was what i heard...

and the worst part is, when MS does warranty claim, the defective MB is used back in a brand new XBoX!!!

The model i got Dell 2408WFP. Got it for 2k in PC fair.. now price go to 2.6k liao until 21st April. Can reach 1080p! And I got a 5 year warranty with it :D

22" can only reach 1050.. so u lose out on 1080 modes, though some monitors can scale it with software. The issue I have with buying 32" TVs is that most don't have Full HD for their price (and I don't really need a TV).

Yeah 3ROD problem for XBox is the reason a lot of serious gamers do not mod their XBox. So that can still claim MS warranty. Not forgetting to mention online gaming and content.

Furthermore with this new gen consoles, a lot of content and options are online, and modding just bans you from it. So not really worth it. As bro terion mentioned, modded PS3 also not much value since copied Bluray would still be expensive.



if you don't intend to go online (no content / patches etc.) and leave it as a party game machine I guess you could. Not too sure if the mod chip is detectable online....

Bad thing is PS3 prices are on the way up.. was told shortage and new bundling tactics by suppliers. Demand also higher with GTA4, GT5:P and MGS4 in the horizon.

sory daniel, i got 2 sets of ROD XBOX 360 already... paiseh, forgotten. but i managed to claim it back a new set from MS. demod it and send back, dah tah!u got a new XBox 360. that one is a issue with MS now, but what u need to do is not to overheat your console. so no main issue la. since u want to show off only... hehehe

as for the Wii, it was a cracked set. so can FRIENDLY games. hehe. warranty, dont worry for Nintendo set, the set can last very long. u beleive i kept my SUper Nintendo which ard 15 years old and it still workign? just sold it recently.

If your budget is tight (or u don't want to spend too much) suggest Dell E24WFP. Can play consoles on Full HD via a HDMI to DVI cable.
P/S: if your video card is a DVI input then must pull in and out. VGA no problem since got standalone port for VGA.
