saw one from E-SKY. Honey Bee King II selling RM450. Got good review. Planning to get one. Those RM3000 one is looking good (from ALIGN). Fully aluminium. Need to be really pro to touch it. One crash, 3K is gone :)
Ya, need a wide space, less windy area to play :)

I'm into RC cars tho. Both Nitro and Battery. I got several kits. 1 pro kit (Serpent). I love working on em and tweaking em...but driver is my bro. I can't hack the hand eye coordination required. :p

If it is a few years ago, cannot be so cheap only 200+ or 400+.
Onli recently become common and popular. Earlier this month there was air show in Melaka.
Heli below 400 bucks is mostly made of plastic. Won't cut any fingers.
Above 500 bucks, blades are made of wood, moving parts and frame are made of polished alunimium.
Ya agree. It is not easy to control :)

I really miss all these fun playing with remote control cars/heli/boat. In my childhood i only play with wooden toys I made myself. I think i will buy one just to satisfy my unfulfilled desire....
I think RC heli is cool... hard to find place to play with it though...

Sky is the limit, if you stay in condo, you can fly the heli out from window, go one round and fly back into the window :)
So there is no limitation on space and where to play :)

I have one 3-Channel heli (SYMA) , but it is as good as 4-channel. Just RM160. Very robust until now still not spoil. Good for practicing :)
Then I have another one 4-channel LAMA v4 (RM320). Now you can get it at RM250. This one more fragile. Blade easily damaged (spare blades cost RM40)

suggest that for entry level / beginners or those wanting to casually explore to get the Silverlit Piccoz - which is around 100-120RM. strictly for indoor use as very light and easy to get blown by fan/wind. Can find in toys r us.
For the full size - dont get the impression that you can play anywhere - you need quite a lot of height clearance to lift off and buffer space for learning - I dont think your neighbours would appreciate your chopper crashing through their windows!

eldiablo, couldn't the heli wings be dangerous?
J195
Apr 20 2008, 06:11 PM
Can find more competitive price in Sg Wang and Times Square area..
"Mosquito" type heli is only RM55 each la.
Those below RM300 heli wing is safe. Most made of plastic or hard cardboard type.

Apr 21 2008, 12:12 AM
be careful - some "pirated" brands are more difficult to control (based on some of the US forum feedback).
and yes - they're not dangerous as designed for kids (yes, even the big ones!)

Thanks to Speedza... I now own a Honey Bee King II.
After spending hours reading up the King's forums and guides.. Right after I get teh Heli. I started to tweak and tune it. Did a full counter balance and Tweak the Blades. Finished around 11pm last night just balancing the heli alone.
Tonight, will try to Hover it for the first time.. The heli tends to swap to the left during take off. Seems like it is a common problem but can be corrected once it leaves the ground.
Anyone knows any Honey Bee King II spareparts shop in Msia? If blades are easy to get, I can be a bit adventurous with it.. else... Will play safe safe.. learn slower...

I will PM you the contact before 24th MAY (perhaps within this week or so), then you can ask them the price and stock availability. These are the shops I frequent and I know the guys there are good and honest. If you are around KL during lunch time, I will be glad to show you direct to the shop in Sg Wang and Times Square. That way you don't waste time searching.

WOW.. thanks man...
but

i think i need it sooner than that now..

how much are the main Blades ?
I finish charging the battery.. setup the heli.. and started hovering around... !! WEE !!!!! But, my mistake was.. I hover it too low... scared to crash it... Took a pitch and the main blades scrap the floor... the heli fliped and crashed !!!!! just less than 5 mins into the flight...
Everything was okie.. but I broke one of the main blades...
And as a common problem.. the belt also was sliped... .
Trying to glue back the blade, as well as fabricate a new one in the meantime...
sad sad sad sad...
Speedza... I crashed your ex-wife in less than 5 mins... not even Orgasm yet..

Last nite I tried to search for the receipt I bought my heli from, you can drop them a mail to enquire the blade:

Thank You.. I have dropped them an eMail. Hope they do shipping to Penang. :)
Anyway... after I fixed the main blades.. I hover the copter again.. suddently it went out of controlled and Crashed!!
Found out that the main Motor's screws have been loosen (vibration)... The fixed blade snapped into 2... Well, no more flying for me till I get the replacements..
Lesson learnt :
- Always check all screws are tight
- Hover higher to learn basic manuver..

Try call Alex Chow (017-2442833), perhaps is faster in response.
I met him just now at his shop. He quoted RM70 per pair. Try to ask for lower price :)
