yours in on battery or nitro?

the heli itself is rechargable, and the remote using batteries but u oso can buy rechargable batteries turned.gif
mitsui_seeker
I also got one heli at home..seldom play....kinda hard to play in housing area..need to find open field to play it :P

bought it for RM300.heli and remote using rechargable battery.
J195
saw one from E-SKY. Honey Bee King II selling RM450. Got good review. Planning to get one. Those RM3000 one is looking good (from ALIGN). Fully aluminium. Need to be really pro to touch it. One crash, 3K is gone :)

Ya, need a wide space, less windy area to play :)
Economist
my fren has 2...one 200+ one 400+ i think..difference being the range of the heli.....i think he is quite PRO at it alredi as he has been playin wif it for a few years.....the thing is super hard to control....

but beware he has cut his fingers a few times while servicing/buidling the heli
k3mpGT
I'm into RC cars tho. Both Nitro and Battery. I got several kits. 1 pro kit (Serpent). I love working on em and tweaking em...but driver is my bro. I can't hack the hand eye coordination required. :p
J195
If it is a few years ago, cannot be so cheap only 200+ or 400+.
Onli recently become common and popular. Earlier this month there was air show in Melaka.

Heli below 400 bucks is mostly made of plastic. Won't cut any fingers.
Above 500 bucks, blades are made of wood, moving parts and frame are made of polished alunimium.

Ya agree. It is not easy to control :)

I really miss all these fun playing with remote control cars/heli/boat. In my childhood i only play with wooden toys I made myself. I think i will buy one just to satisfy my unfulfilled desire.... laugh.gif
I think RC heli is cool... hard to find place to play with it though...
J195
Sky is the limit, if you stay in condo, you can fly the heli out from window, go one round and fly back into the window :)

So there is no limitation on space and where to play :)

I have one as well but its a lousy 2 channel. Planned to get at least 4 channel to start playing with but the price confused.gif
J195
I have one 3-Channel heli (SYMA) , but it is as good as 4-channel. Just RM160. Very robust until now still not spoil. Good for practicing :)

Then I have another one 4-channel LAMA v4 (RM320). Now you can get it at RM250. This one more fragile. Blade easily damaged (spare blades cost RM40)

eldiablo
suggest that for entry level / beginners or those wanting to casually explore to get the Silverlit Piccoz - which is around 100-120RM. strictly for indoor use as very light and easy to get blown by fan/wind. Can find in toys r us.

For the full size - dont get the impression that you can play anywhere - you need quite a lot of height clearance to lift off and buffer space for learning - I dont think your neighbours would appreciate your chopper crashing through their windows! biggrin.gif
LancerInspired
eldiablo, couldn't the heli wings be dangerous?
J195
Can find more competitive price in Sg Wang and Times Square area..
"Mosquito" type heli is only RM55 each la.

Those below RM300 heli wing is safe. Most made of plastic or hard cardboard type.
eldiablo
be careful - some "pirated" brands are more difficult to control (based on some of the US forum feedback).
and yes - they're not dangerous as designed for kids (yes, even the big ones!) biggrin.gif

J195

haha..fly fluently also difficult already some more want to do stunt ah. I actually searching around net for cheaper price on those 4 channel.

for those who shop online. You may want to watch out for WWC Mart at lelong.com this guy is a lousy seller. When you buy item from him email respond is fast, when got problem with item. He will just shut you off. I learned my lesson buying one mini heli for my son.
JohnsonLam
ooh.. 6 channel.. wah.. dunno got such thing.. sorry.. I thought 4 channel already too canggih already.. hahha..

4 channel.. hmm.. I tried playing a simulation.. using a USB controller that looks like the real R/C Controller.. and control Helicopters... Simulation on PC.. can do all kinds of stunt.. but I crashed a hundred times.. hahaha.. software plus controller sold in US for 299USD.. that time.. no money to buy.. hahaha
J195
ya, the cheapest 6-channel and popular model is Honey Bee King II. Best price after seaching hard is RM450. Simulation software included for you to practice to crash a few hundred times.. haha. But not on the real thing :)

JohnsonLam
wah... very very very nice...
bender
Last time 1992 1993 used to play RC plane, self assemble from scratch glue every rib hairdryer the skin crash repair glue again here and there.
Now just play remote control TV.
InfinityGT
tv simulation no fun lah...the real thing more challenging.

Thanks to Speedza... I now own a Honey Bee King II.

After spending hours reading up the King's forums and guides.. Right after I get teh Heli. I started to tweak and tune it. Did a full counter balance and Tweak the Blades. Finished around 11pm last night just balancing the heli alone.

Tonight, will try to Hover it for the first time.. The heli tends to swap to the left during take off. Seems like it is a common problem but can be corrected once it leaves the ground.

Anyone knows any Honey Bee King II spareparts shop in Msia? If blades are easy to get, I can be a bit adventurous with it.. else... Will play safe safe.. learn slower...
JohnsonLam
Oh yeah.. those of you who like to hands-on "Virtual" Heli or Planes.. can download this free Simulator.

http://n.ethz.ch/student/mmoeller/fms/index_e.html

It has a few plane and Helicopter model to learn to fly... Just plug in those Playstation Style USB controller, and you can have hours and hundreds of crashes.. with no hole in your pocket.

You can also load differnt "Worlds", maps and environment for you to fly about.

JohnsonLam
Add : This is the site to add new models in to your Simulator..

Even have 747s :P

I will PM you the contact before 24th MAY (perhaps within this week or so), then you can ask them the price and stock availability. These are the shops I frequent and I know the guys there are good and honest. If you are around KL during lunch time, I will be glad to show you direct to the shop in Sg Wang and Times Square. That way you don't waste time searching.

WOW.. thanks man...
but dry.gif i think i need it sooner than that now.. confused.gif how much are the main Blades ?

I finish charging the battery.. setup the heli.. and started hovering around... !! WEE !!!!! But, my mistake was.. I hover it too low... scared to crash it... Took a pitch and the main blades scrap the floor... the heli fliped and crashed !!!!! just less than 5 mins into the flight...

Everything was okie.. but I broke one of the main blades...

And as a common problem.. the belt also was sliped... .

Trying to glue back the blade, as well as fabricate a new one in the meantime...
sad sad sad sad...

Speedza... I crashed your ex-wife in less than 5 mins... not even Orgasm yet.. whistling.gif
J195
OMG... sorry to hear that bro...
the blade is made of wood, perhaps RM40 to 60 per pair. Just guessing. My LAMA V4 blade is RM40 per set (2 pairs)
JohnsonLam
Well... here is some good news...

Picture of the broken Main Blade... and after a few minutes of DIY using PVC glue mixed with PVC dust and some tape.. I tried hovering it again.. it is a bit wobbly.. but it can fly.. hahaha... OKIE.. time to sleep.. enjoy the pictures..

Nice fix :)

Last nite I tried to search for the receipt I bought my heli from, you can drop them a mail to enquire the blade:

Toys Zone
No: F116, Sg Wang Plaza,
50250 KL
Email: toyszone168@yahoo.com

Surprisingly no contact number on the receipt :)

JohnsonLam
Thank You.. I have dropped them an eMail. Hope they do shipping to Penang. :)

Anyway... after I fixed the main blades.. I hover the copter again.. suddently it went out of controlled and Crashed!!

Found out that the main Motor's screws have been loosen (vibration)... The fixed blade snapped into 2... Well, no more flying for me till I get the replacements..

Lesson learnt :
- Always check all screws are tight
- Hover higher to learn basic manuver..

Not easy to be a pilot bro :)

Try call Alex Chow (017-2442833), perhaps is faster in response.
I met him just now at his shop. He quoted RM70 per pair. Try to ask for lower price :)
