Guys,
Just wondering about your honest opinion after changing your car from whatever you were driving before to the LancerGT. Any better?
I am currently driving an italian bella, with 200 horses, V6 24V monster under the hood. Surprisingly after test driving the LancerGT, I am happy to say that the handling and responsiveness is as good. However, the power is obviously lacking, which to me is not a problem anyway, since I do not drive as fast anymore (yeah right!... rather there is room to upgrade -> turbo!!).
Anybody wants to share their opinion, and relate to what car you had driven before. I have received mixed feedback so far, but mostly good. Anyone changing from a continental car to this gorgeous lancerGT?

exconti, you are the one with the nov. struts, ex146 twinspark and ex-gti right?
a good car must have the basics right first, good stiff body, suspension. with that, the possibilities are endless.

Bro,
The GT for me, it's definitely a triple or quadruple thumbs up from me, upgrading from a Waja b4 this. Think u ady know that there's a lack in power, but as u already also know, there's alot of room to improve in d GT. Soon, there'll b turbo kits coming out for d GT.
The GT is a definitely plus for car owners for that kind of price, although MMM has a problem in meeting the delivery demands of d public. They'll loose alot of potential buyers bcoz of this. Heard that they're 2nd batch of Gt's are also limited.

Well, all I can say is that I'll get a more comfy ride when I get my GT. I'm just having a Wira now with about 210hp and 1.3bar running under the hood. So I'm pretty sure i'll be very satisfy with the new ride when it's in my hand.

Well, you can say that but having an Evo to me is just for a fun driving experience. I've been admiring this car since the 1st generation. Therefore, I decided to own it when i'm affordable.
I hardly drive the car due to poor security of our Land. In order to eliminate my worries, Lancer GT is my choice coz i just like it!
Anyone interested?? Let me know.

after reading about everyone's view on their new and old cars it intrigue me to share about my current car (still haven't gotten my GT yet)
I drive a.....
Kancil 850EX- 847cc three-cylinder carburetor in-line engine, 37 hp (27.5 kW), five-speed manual transmission, body-color bumpers and rub strips
It's chick, small and very agile especially in traffic jams. Comes with power windows (only for the front passenger and driver), electric powered side mirrors and organized dashboard. (at least has cup holders, iswara don't even have that)
If my tires go bald I can change 4 tires for the price of one (One tire for the GT costs approx. RM400 which is the price for 4 tires for the kancil)
Compact boot space, avoids me from running away from hubby coz i can't take everything i need.
Can drive down to penang with one full tank without refueling half way! Only cost me RM40 per trip.
Easy to park, fuel economy now my air-con died so even better fuel economy. Can just service the car for just RM58 at Eunos.
We have and will continue to have fun times together, forever.
Tried to trade in the car in so many occasions but was never able to do it. It's like we were meant to be together. Even though at one point all four of my doors were jammed and i had to get into the car through the boot. (I couldn't open the doors from outside and they were only accessible from inside) A hidden security feature in the car that doesn't come with the GT.
Been with me for 7 long years, never failed on me, never disappointed me, knows a lot about me.
Now i'm getting a very intimidating car afraid my kancil will think i've found a replacement.
No matter how well the GT is going to perform nothing beats the love the kancil has given me. She'll be my favourite, my one and only (well of course my dog and hubby comes first). In these years my kancil has protected us on every ride we have gone together.
*sigh*

it is a big jump from my current daily ride, Modenas Karisma 125. heh..heh... anyway still have my waja at home for my wife to use. it is 2001 waja, bought second hand in 2004. over the years I fell in love with the car, but over the years it has falling apart. a lot of dents and scrathes on the car which I never bother to repair (you know...women driver). cannot wait for my GT. the waiting is already killing me. I keep the brochure of the GT next to my PC in my office and next to my bed. every few hours will stop and have a look on the picture of the GT. Gila bayang already...

hi jobo. welcome...
I dont owned a more luxurious car than the GT, only a Wira...having this new car means an big upgrade as I only use to like watching and reading mods, cars, performance etc.
Things are going better as I work longer, so I think it's a paid off for the wait...
I see a lot of potential in this car, though it doesnt get a popular vote from a lot of ppl.
I do wish to see a fast incoming of cars as well as aftermarket accessories... my ultimate motive, a greatER car plus a controlled fc. hahaha....

Currently I'm driving a 12yr-old standard iswara sedan inherited from my parent. Never fail on me...
Few months ago, I was planning to owned Altezza but changed my mind once I saw the new lancer's advert in local newspaper. Damn this car is 'garang'!! Love at the first sight...!
Test drive the GT early of this month. What can i say, it come with a great package. Its beautiful, great power, 18" rim, value for money, 3yrs maintenance, 5yrs warranty and thing i like most is... the paddle shifter..! After the test drive, I cant resist myself anymore and straight away pay the booking fee.
Cant wait to put my hands on my own GT!

Currently i am driving a Honda City Vtec. You can't deny that Honda engines are still the best! It's smooth and free REV. But after the first sight on the GT , i really fall in love with it. The first test drive was a little bit disappointing due to the sluggish ppick up. But the overall package is so un resistable that i still decide to own the car.

my turn..
started with yamaha mtorbike during college time.. then 1st car bought satria 1.3...then upgrade the engine to mivec 1.6.. then after got kid upgrade to waja 1.6... then now happy revving my GT...
basically before deciding on GT, my list of candidate was used E46, altezza, stream, wish, E7, or new seewid, focus... but end up with GT..never regret for the reasons like all bros wrote here...
next after GT? will use at least 5 years.. then will decide how.. upgrade to 4B11T or bolt on turbo... or if space required looking for MPV with turbo engine .. hope there will be new model like wish with caldina engine.. space+power...
where for my wife.. got her 1st car.. kancil 850EZ.. last year upgraded to brand new jazz idsi.. future? dunno.. but she really love her jazz n no idea to upgrade yet...

In the list was Civic 1.8/2.0, Latio Sports and Focus.. after my friend forward me an email about the new lancer, I decided this is the car that I should have, a sports sedan which my wife can drive (my wife can only drive auto).. after owning one, yezzza I made the right decision!

GT is the best deal for c-class sedan on the market..but we cant compare to US market as its priced to less then 20K dollars compared to our 116K ringgit... so guys ..we are having the best deal of the year.. so what else is there to say ..

My story,
I have been looking for a car for 4 years. Driving a Proton Saga 1991, then Sentra 1999 for a while.
Vios, City, Camry 2005, Honda Accord 2005, Volvo S40(old version), S60 2002, Audi 2000, Audi 2003, BMW 318 2001, BMW 316 2000, Honda Civic 2006, Mazda 3, Harrier 1998...Yes, i have test drove every single one of them. In summary, continental cars are a little heavy and stable, Japs cars are lighter and better pick up.
Mitsu cars never in my mind. I know they are good cars, just that the previous Lancer did not look appealing to me. Evo, not very practical on Malaysian roads...
I wanted to have the BMW E46 and Honda Civic, because not many cars are aesthetically beautiful both interior and exterior. Elsewhere in this forum, i have written that i waited for 10 bloody months for the Civic, then gues what? The Lancer launched! Booked on the 8/8, received 29/8..
NO REGRET for Lancer! It is beautiful, powerful( yes, because it is an upgrade for me)
Jap brand with a handling of a continental car! All negativity offset by the handling and performance of the car!
I really don't mind the plastic dashboard though...

Lol. I had fun reading this thread. Such rich motoring heritage u guys have. Me, I started out a bit more modest. 1st job in 1998 I couldn't even afford a car with my salary, so it was public transport all the way.

Hi y'all,
Let me see, where do i begin, hmmm.....i'm quite old ady, so i dont think i can remember the dates, so bear wit me ya.
1st car, Mazda 2000 (kinda antique car, dad bought it for RM5k, n i used it)
2nd car, used Proton Knight (bought it myself)
3rd car, new Proton Satria (got stolen after having it for 5-6 years)
4th car, new Proton Waja 1.6 (drove for 6yrs)
5th car, new Mit GT (my pride and joy)
That's roughly my history, yeah, was quite a Proton guy as those were the cars affordable to me at the time. Putting aside the 1st car, guess u can say that I'm a Mitsubishi engine guy
Maybe my next car will be a Conti, but at the moment the GT's the way to go......
