Hi Friends,

I recently purchased 2 new Garmin Nuvi 200W, but my friend changed his mind. So, there's an extra unit, and I'll be willing to let it got for about RM1100. Retail price is RM12xx.

Please message me if you're interested. Works well with Malaysia and Singapore maps, no license required as maps can be downloaded from www.malsingmaps.com. The only requirement to upload the map is to contribute something like 3 locations to the site (it's community based, and there are a lot of passionate GPS users!)

If you need a picture, please let me know (or browse to garmin.com)

Cheers!

show me de pic thanks..

The unit is at home, so I haven't got time to take a picture of it, but here's a picture from some review site (just to give you an idea)

Hmm... I guess we're all too familiar with roads in Klang Valley?

No takers? Really?

the 200W is selling here for about 1050 i believe.

having said that i still bought mine from the US for about RM1200. the reason is that the 200W sold in Malaysia does not come with the US maps. The US maps cost USD 99-199 (i forget). So for those who want to have US maps its cheaper to buy it there.

for those who never need the US maps it's cheaper to buy it here.

So i think this is a good deal, just have to find the right buyer who needs the US maps because his unit comes with US map.

p.s. *malaysia and singapore maps are free.

Nick277, thanks... I also paid about RM1200 for it. My unit is from US and includes the US maps. But i guess i'm just trying to get rid of it before it's worth as much as about a "piece of crap". Not trying to make money from you guys... just want to be done with it...

That being said...

THE OFFER HAS GONE DOWN TO RM899.99. (I'm now losing $$...oh well..)

C'mon guys... RM899.99!!!

:D

Heh...

Flicka you got any way to get Malaysia maps? I got a friend who is looking for a GPS set but he wants it with the Malaysian maps.

Skadi,

Just go to www.malsingmaps.com, and there are forums that can guide you on how you can upload the maps. It's surprisingly easy. Garmin GPSes work well with malsingmaps, although you have to take note that there are certain features that are not able to be used in malaysia (like real-time traffic patterns, and speed traps). It's the limitation of the GPS infrastructure in Malaysia, not the device itself. Malaysia has a long way to go... sigh...

anyway, I managed to sell the GPS (phew).

I've got a colleague who will be going to the states for two weeks (for work). Does anyone want any iPhone (about RM499) or GPS units? Let me know yah...
