Both models using the same FC1JA CVT Gearbox? Both ratios the same...even from the MTM pics on the sylphy, looks like the FC1JA.

Hmmm, same CVT but diff final drive...according to the official data tis Sylphy's FC is better than Lancer's, under Jpan 10-15 test, Sylphy achieve 16km/liter, Lancer is 13.5km/liter.
freddie
perhaps it's also lighter?

Yeah, hard to believe a big car like Sylphy actually achieve that figure...

spec of test n probably engine design :) alot factor :) but nissan is known for good FC, from those days, now dunno liao

They've detuned that Nissan engine in the Selphy for better fuel economy, 131 hp max power is very weak for a modern day 2.0 fuel injected petrol engine. This is the trade off I guess for better FC.

Yup, de-tuned 75%. The media is saying that their cvt is the 3rd generation xetronic nissan....what crap...look at it, confirm JAFCO.....and same as INVECS-III lo...
KING
The Sylphy's engine is tuned for torque...90% of torque available at 2k rpm; ours is about 85%.
