Well, it depends actually. Twice a week is sufficient if your exercising for general health.

If you intend to bulk up 3~4 X a week would do perfect! Remember, plenty of rest in between! Tee hee!

Thats easy dude... For length, I recommend suspending 45lb plates from that appendage.

To add mass and definition, pounding the love muscle with 25lb dumbells in each hand in an alternating fashion. Should get that part beefed up and real jacked... Try it dude!

Well, beer is high in calories, lowers your testosterone levels and research shows that alcohol increases your appetite. I guess its all co-related..My best advice lay off it... But if u have to, go easy on it happy.gif Adopt an attitude where evrytime u booze, u feel "guilty" and make up for it by working out the next day.Hope it helps!Cheers!Gargy

Hey dude how u doin! Im doin great thumbsup.gif Yeah been sumtime since we last met. Thanks for introducing me to dis great club! biggrin.gif

Hmm bro... Urs is not really an isolated case. I have trained far more skinnier pple. Like bag-o-bones skinny. No kidding. ermm.gif Thru my experience, judging by your frame you can easily pack on more mass. To achieve it is solely up to you and how determined you are.

Most important thing for you right now is nutrition. Nutrition is the single most important factor in determining your goal. With regards to protein you need 1 to 1.5 grams per pound of lean bodyweight, spread throughout the day over as many meals as possible. All this is to be balanced with plenty of rest in between Lost? No worries. So was I when I first started out. I could go on and on.....

We have a more on depth discussion over coffee once Im back yeah?

Cheers!

Thats the least I could do for a bunch of nice people laugh.gif

Its nice to noe that the existence of this thread sparks sum life changing decisions biggrin.gif

As for your case, all is not lost u noe? So ur packing 20kgs of spare tyre, but possibly only a certain percentage
of it is just fat. The rest could be subcutaneous water. It could easily be shed off with proper training and diet.

As most of u understand, structurally our body composition is made up of 70% water. Some people retain water more than others. Hence the "puffy" look.

We meet up someday and do a case study on u ya? biggrin.gif biggrin.gif
ZeN
Hmm I'm with True Fitness. Trying to lose some weight while toning and getting rid of the spare tyre :P

Do share tips bro!

bro zack has became the club's fitness consultant. thumbsup.gif

well, different people have different metabolism rate, which is the main cause of why some eats a lot but dont gain a pound while some will gain weight by breathing. ninja.gif

maybe our next tt will be in a gym. laugh.gif
Reverend
Yup, I hv a pretty high metabolism rate (confirmed by a full med check-up), tat's y I'm skinny no matter how much or how often I eat.

Bet many gals "want my body" for tis reason alone, LOL biggrin.gif
GreyGT
omg rev, u giving me e chills la... from my hair to my spine to my toes ler....

many have the wrong impression that having a skinny body means out of troubles from high blood pressure and high cholesterol. in fact, many skinny people turned out to have heart related diseases due to the above wrong impression. they thought they could eat anything without gaining any weight, thus free from all these heart troubles.

also, many girls thought exercise is a good way to lose weight. in fact after certain period of exercises, they will gain more weight than before. but all these are perfectly fine because muscle weight more than fat.

bad thing is, a lot of people went on to diet to lose weight, without knowing the weight losing was from fat or muscle.

people with great muscle mass can absorb higher calories than normal people because muscle plays a big role in bumping up your metabolism rate.

I agree with Freddie...nobody would wanna be a bag of bones...a friend of mine who is really skinny has high cholesterol and blood pressure and diabetes, he continued eating whatever he can thinking that he can never put on weight and that he is healthy until he suffered from heart attack. He's still alive and kicking but has to be very careful with his diet.
LancerInspired
wow freddie, didn't u can write so detail about health and fitness too.... 2404_worship.gif
gargamel
Not many realize the importance of proper nutrition. If u guys were to engage any trainers, they would be advocating
the same thing also.

To give you guys a rough idea, 60% goes to nutrition and the remaining 40% is ur exercise regime, rest etc..

Screw it up and achieving ur dream physique would be futile.

Formerly being a trainer at my local gym back home, I noticed that many gym goers are clueless. I believe as with other sports, proper education and guidance is essential.

Coincidentally, wat inspired me to beef up was the movie "Troy"

Immediately bought a set of dumbells after catching the show laugh.gif
freddie
so bro, just a question for you.

how long does it take for you to build from "original" to what you're now?
gargamel
I been lifting weights for almost 4 years now. The last 2 years have been geared towards competitive bodybuilding.

I was reasonably scrawny before. 65kgs on a 1.78m frame. Highly disproportionate. down.gif

During the first 3 months of training, I have made clean gains of almost 20kgs. All this is made possible with excellent nutrition and a crazy trainer.
