I suggest making lancerGTclub a portal instead of a forum? Webmaster shud know how. :) WHo's the webmaster?

The format of the main page is a portal... with the ability for you to post news, and on the side recent topics in the forum. This way you can have banners for events, photos, news etc. See the myjffc.com for example.

a portal can offer a lot of things including a forum - ex. photo album, news, msg area & other customizable space

I dont know about others but I think keep it light and simple would do it for me - that means staying put w/ this forum

horox... yes tat logo.. i try to do la but im not designer... i can ask them do for us but paiseh la... if u can do something liddat its very nice.portal cannot earn money. we ask vendors to sponsor the club on events or in monetary.. a little only.. hen we put their links on the portal.i hear u brader. but from what ive seen many people dont have so much time like some of us to browse thru all the topics in each forum. they want a main page... with announcements of events, news, etc. (see myjffc.com) then on the left we have listed the most recent topics. so those who want to "troll" each forum daily can stil click on Forum and be brought to this format that u see everyday. But those who don't just see the main page.. something like First page of the newspaper.anyway this is just my suggestion...

but if i did our logo something like their logo...our member will complain its too "cartoonist"

good idea, actually this is already in the long term plan. as you may have noticed www.lancerzone.com is still empty, there is where the portal site will be hosted.

As for now I think we should be okay with the forum since there's not much news to update anyway + we still lack ppl to do the updating and stuff. but its definitely something to do in the future.

oh and this should have been posted under suggestions box.

sorry to say that the thread that we are continue for the "Delivery Date Update Here" in the Pre-ownerships Issues are little bit confuse due to slightly the deference thread tittle.. so i suggest that the committee and webmaster to rename the thread title to the same as previous title "Delivery Date Update Here" just put as PART 1 and PART 2. so we all can straight to the thread title without any confusing.. so we all happy..hopefully..ahAK.. JUST IMHO...

1 suggestion: could we have something like a special post where members are requested to include themselves in the list?
currently only the admin, mod & the comm can edit other ppl's post, and when members want to join, say a convoy, some they repost the whole post or some they "new reply", which either make the thread veli long or the admin, mod & the comm very busy. any idea?

only the admins and moderators are allowed to modify a post. The reason is, so that the forum can remain organised and presentable. If everybody do editting then it will become like 'pasar malam'. However, we could help upon members request to shorten the post. Unless, our Mr.P have other things to say lah.

it will be very messy if all members can edit a post. imagine A and B are editing the post at the same time, A submited first then B submitted 2nd... it will only reflect changes on B while A's post will be gone.

would be nice to implement an event+participants module just for that purpose though.

oh i know what you mean. this is only possible with a portal. examples are apps like "vWar" etc. they let people "sign up" for an event. not sure if they have this type of plugin for IPB.

So the admin creates an event like "Genting TT on March 1st" then people who see it on the portal and want to attend just join ans their names is added to the list.

When i was doing WoW there was a script that allowed one to do raid signups. Might want to take a look at those.

u have events which are "Pinned", I'm sure other categories can be added. So, in this special thread, there will be some special icons like "PARTICIPATE"/"WITHDRAW", once u clicked those, ur name would be added to the 1st post. will this affect the earlier entries as well?
