This is quite interesting… what use has the federal government for Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution cars? Are these police cars? A report in MySinChew reveals that fleet management company Spanco signed a deal in June 2008 to supply the government with 2,500 units of Proton Waja and 10 units of the Mitsubishi Evolution. It should be an interesting sight to see government/police Evos around.

Its traffic police cars. 10 is already here and 15 coming with a total of 25 unit of Evo X and 10 Subaru to run on our road and highways to chase us. Its like back then when they use volvo as their "peronda lebuhraya". Hence, the speed limit you got to look close at or else you got the X on your tail. Handling SST is like DSC which is very responsive and "light". If you experienced driving Golf GTI you would know how it feel, plus this is Evo. Soo.. good luck to you running from them. The whole car came from Japan. Even the newly designed siren lights. looks superb on the evos. Cheers to our tax money.. or millions of summons money we paid for the passed years!

Its very probably going to be used as silly escort vehicles. The Perdana's they use are probably having problem keeping up with some of the new young guns who drive around in CLK's.

Bro, dnt think its a waste of funds. i believe this is good 4 us. Besides, the tender for the procurement of these cars have been done way back sometime last year as, if some of u guys out there dont know, to get the governement / treasury to approve such spending takes months (some says years!).

Just hope that these patrol cars are being maintained AND handled eficiently. Otherwise one day we might get headilne which reads : PDRM EVO X masuk gaung while hot pursuit...

I heard that PDRM EVO X are used only for escort VVVIP and not to used for pursuit nor patroling. I also heard that PDRM are training more young senior officers to handle superbike as well.
