I was travelling on Federal Hiway and tailing a bimmer 7 series late one night, just trying to see how I'd fare against one. I wasn't 'cucuking' him and keeping 1-car distance from him, but we were travelling abt 120 - 130km. Suddenly I saw this white HID in my rear view. It was far away at first, maybe 10-15 cars behind-not sure, but within seconds it was right behind me. I couldn't move of course; the 7 was in front. Suddenly the car behind overtook on the left. Immediately I saw it was a Scooby v.8 with GT wing. But the interesting thing is it was being chased by a Porsche 911S - and it looked like the 911 was losing! The way they moved from the right to middle to left and back again made it look like child's play. Immediately the 7 in front of me gave chase. I wanted to follow too, to see who came out in front but the way they were driving... dowanlah, very irresponsible.

But one thing that impressed me is the version 8 freaking flies! The way it was handling, it was obvious the porsche was trying hard to keep up. Its turning arc was a lot wider compared to the STi's. And they were really going in and out between the slower cars (saw so many cars with brakelights on, poor things). I wonder what the STi did to piss the 911 off?

To me, that's still the best version altho the front of the version 9 looks better IMO. Actually I was a Subaru fan until our LGTs came onto the scene, then I switched camps, ehehehe. That, plus I don't have that kinda $$$ to buy one

What were you eyeing before you settled on the LGT?

Anyone know what's the current price of a version 8/9?

Scooby won't have enought omph if it wasn't modded. most of the scooby on the road especially those old version have high horse in it.

I know which car you mean. I saw it also..hehe but watch out though as driving scooby will attract EVO the road king attention. Scooby also drink fuel and high maintenance as well. Evo can simply whack scooby easily..not to spoil your fun but my friend always complaint to me. hehe

my choice is Skyline GTR loh, but $$ issue so settle wit LGT 1st. :)

yup... ver 8 is worth to buy and you can just spent few thousand to convert the front to become the new ver 9 facelift... however, when people saw your interior, they can easily identify yours is ver 8 or ver 9.

for those who attend my wedding convoy, the white color scooby ver 9 is the limited edition RA-R version, my buddy test on sepang track before, easily whacked those 300-350 bhps monster because of its ultra light weighted body and special tuned engine.

Actually, I was keeping an eye for this STi ver 8 since early this year... My old car getting expensive to maintain, need a new car... so looking around for ver 8 around KV. Manage to get a very good deal for a '03 STi S203...unreg, damn cun, for RM190k after discount....
But towards the middle of the year, due to financial crisis, increase in living cost, high fuel prices, etc...etc... money not enough... Lancer GT become my saviour....

What's the differences between ver 8 and 9, bro DC? Don't mind to share, big diff ah? So that next time I go 4 lunch outside my ofis in Sunway can '8' and look inside their rides to see if really ver 9 or not

the version 8 still in the cock eye headlamp. version 9 on snake eye headlamp. that's the main diff.

Oh, sorry. I meant the internal difference. In the cabin ... the other car I was eyeing before getting my GLS was the ver 7. The bug-eye one. Ppl said it was ugly la, but when u CF the lights like the rally spec one, it really looks like some anime mech. Yum! I was seriously thinking of it lor... but not financially advisable lah, cos so old adi.. But at least I can own the 7,8 and 9 - when I lie on my bed and dream, hahaha!

My favorite Scooby is still the Legacy GT. Elegant sleeper.....
