Just read the short article on Malaysian EVO magazine issue 030 (Oct 2007). Very interesting. Its quoting 0-100km/h at 7.9secs. whistling.gif

extracts; "....the Lancet GT is the best car in this price bracket, bar none".

terion, I think the best review is from cars.my - Mel Lee concluded his review with these sentences:

"It is clearly Best in Class. I am sure it will win the Car of the Year awards."

Agree....as i said in my previous post, i think the car has been broken, and more seasoned. Initial test drives cannot be counted loh...how they can compare a seasoned Civic with a brand new Lancer?
7 over seconds..? This is really a sports car man...
prodmar
but 7.9 is way lower than expected - not even claimed by mitsu...hope some1 else will prove it right
RyanS
i believe 7.9 is hand clocked lo....

I got the mag and I believe there's simpler logical explanation for that superbly marvelous century sprint - it's a typo.

C'mon guys, don't get carried away! 7.9 sec is a bit too hard to swallow. The Volvo S40 2.4 which is roughly the same size with LGT but much more powerful engine has the official century sprint of only 8.9 sec - a full one second slower if the LGT's 7.9 is to be believed.

Further, just look at the mag itself. If I'm not mistaken (I don't hv the mag now), there's another car review article before the LGT's (I can't remember what car - was it the new Volvo S80?... hiya need to check again) and guess what, the century sprint was stated as 7.9 sec!

Very likely, due to poor editing, the stats got mixed up to get us here excited over nothing really.

It's ez to prove it right or wrong, just have a run on the next TT for the century mark, and we'll know, but I think we would have to have a reliable time keeper in d car. banana.gif banana.gif banana.gif

donyong
US reviews posted century print of 7.9-8.5 secs....
se7en
it could well be. chris (the evo editor) is a bit of a speed freak.

i'll double check wt him on Monday to confirm on whether it was a typo, or if its true, how he did it.

if you asked me, it all depends on how well versed you are with paddle shifters.
k3mpGT
hmm...paddle shifters? I would think the stick shift give better (more precise) response?
se7en
stick shift - that would already make it a manual transmission no?

the US 0-100 times if i remember correctly are for the manual version of the GT.

no not manual, but CVT at the shift stick which has + and -. I think he meant using that to shift gives better response..
alxand_mitsubishi
weight to power ration, if driver is a fat assed like mine the century timing is abit out lor, if small assed one will get slightly better, hehe

also maybe usa tested manual n small rim for better century timing?
