Hahah sorry for the confusing post, places safe and easy to drive to in Malaysia for a short holiday lor. Ya genting is one that I will try. Cameron too (but heard the roads not that easy). Will try Penang but too far, so last choice. How about Port Dickon or Langkawi (not sure can drive there bo)

Another question for bros here, no offence, what precautions you guys take to prevent car theft? Sorry for being paranoid but just get a bit worried at time.

Genting? I beg to differ. It's not a an "easy" drive at all, too twisty up the hill.

It depends on how much travelling time you prefer (or is tolerant of :) ). Somewhere like PD should be okay since the coastal road along PD can be described as "leisurely". It's like 4 hours from S'pore.

For me, I have always loved driving up to Penang (it's my most oft visited M'sia holiday driving destination), and it's always nice to drive along the Bt. Ferringhi coastal road (not too twisty, not really all that crowded)... but Penang is like 9 hours drive for you. The food there, however, may make it all worthwhile thumbsup.gif

Langkawi, you can't drive to the island, not unless you're prepared to wait for the long in-between schedules. You have to park your car on the mainland and take a ferry across. I've done that a coupla times and I've never really enjoyed my holidays there because I always worried about my car! :) But once on Langkawi island, it IS a very nice place to drive around!
Yellowcow100
Bro,

Penang is a nice place, spent 6 days there last Xmas, will go again. So you drove over to Langkawi before?

You can't "drive over" to Langkawi :) :) :)

Seriously tho', I've never ferried my car over to Langkawi before... always left it at the mainland and then rent a car at Langkawi island. Driving in Langkawi is really recommended!!!

Any club gathering in Langkawi? :)
Yellowcow100
Oh me mountain tortoise thought can ferry car over. Hahaha. Never mind, think I will stick to places like Port Dickson, Desaru etc.

Anyone know of this place, heard it is a resort or kelong that goes into the water one.

holiday driving for whole day is tiring, why not you make it 2 overnight stops eg like "pit stop" in KL where you can meet up and enjoy with central region members there. 2nd "pit stop" as the last pit stop in Penang. all of us ll be happy to meet up with you.

Bro, I am going Melaka during the Hari Raya holiday, you in town? Maybe we can meet up for the famous dim sum. I went there once.
AGM
Since you're coming from the South, could try the road from Kuala Pilah to Bentong. 120KM of twisty roads give u lots of training on F1-style driving. Then from Bentong to Genting is only 40KM away.

Oh bro, Singapore got a public holiday on the 8th December leh, it is Hari Raya Haji, don't know is the same in Malaysia. Should be doing Melaka then. I stayed in the Century once and another time is Imperial I think. Imperial sucks.

Tried the chicken rice ball, don't like it because like tasteless, maybe different from the hainaness chicken rice here, but like the dim sum, very nice. Jonker street rite?

Do PM me if you are coming to Singapore

This is a good topic. Thanks for brought it up!

Going for an island (pangkor, tioman, redang) def. will need you to park your car and take the boat. Like langkawi, they charged 10 bucks to leave your car there before taking the boat. Others Cameron, Genting, Bukit Tinggi guess you would know them already. But I guess lots of guys here would know the places very well. For me its all about the food bro! Penang, Melaka, Ipoh..! hehehe
