yup, I saw the drifting at the tamiya underground 1 utama. they have a drift track there. looks quite nice and they have ready to run kits which are quite decent in price.
price for upgrades also not as expensive as real car parts

me? I got myself a monster truck

I got into the hobby coz back then (feeling old liao), it was easy to ship R/C stuff from overseas. No offence to the local R/C stores, but prices comparatively was high here.
My fav online store; Tower Hobbies. I got my first Nitro R/C (on-road) kit from them, a Kyosho Dodge Ram monster truck with reverse gear! It cost a measly RM800-ish at a time when 1/10th scale nitro monster trucks cost RM2-3k locally. I still have it today, but the GS-15R engine got a broken conrod :(

Click to view attachmentk3mpGT, now the price for entry is more reasonable with more "eastern" competition. you can get starter RTR nitro kits for less than 1k.
