Lancers From All Over the Country Unite in PD

The 8th of November 2008 marked a historic milestone for the Lancer GT
Club ("LGTC") as Lancers from the whole of Peninsula Malaysia convoyed
to Tiara Beach Resort in Port Dickson for the club's 1st annual
gathering and official launch.

This event marked the largest ever gathering of the latest 9th
generation Lancer in Malaysia with 80 cars from as far north as Kedah,
as far east as Kuala Terengganu and as far south as Singapore. In this
rarity, all the cars were arranged in an arrow-like formation lead by
a Lancer Evolution X for a group photo shoot.



During the gathering, many members who have since only met online on
the Lancerzone forum (www.lancergtclub.com), finally met their fellow
members face to face for the first time. It was indeed a rare occasion
for members from all over the country to get together and share their
insights on the latest news and modifications on their pride and joy
i.e. their cars.

The main highlight of the event was the Annual Gathering Dinner, which
was held in the Resort's ballroom. Amongst the highlights of the night
were a speech by Mr Tana Terence, the club president; ice-breakers;
games; Lucky Draws; product demonstration by sponsors; auctioning of
good to raise club funds; and last but not least, LGTC awards where
awards such as Mr Friendly, Most Modded Car and Snail Driver of the
year were awarded to members in which results were determined by the
members online polling on the club's forum.

With the kindness and generous support of sponsors such as Mitsubishi
Motors Malaysia, Wingard, KL Auto, Quicksave, Shine and Shield PPS, TL
Mac Motorsport, Rainbow Accessories and Xango, every member who
attended the gathering were treated to a goodie bag with sponsored
items as souvenirs for their participation in this momentous event.

Whilst having fun, LGTC also did not forget the less fortunate and
helped to raise funds for Bethany Home by selling calendars for the
home. Bethany Home is a home that provides training and educational
programmes for children and adults with disabilities such as epilepsy,
intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, autism and many others.

Bro Terion, frankly, I hate the gallery design la... lazy to upload there! Prefer the old fashion type, sorry, maybe I am more used to it since the 1st day I play FORUM... I believe all the forum should allow members to upload photos using the method I am using since day 1. :p

In the pic, the head of the arrow is a silver Lancer. I had assumed that single X would be gargamel's, which is red.

hi everyone...
since comeback from pd ..now only have chance to join the forum.
would like to take this opportunity to congrat to everybody n comitee especially for the the great job had been done to make the dreams come to reality. plus 5 star gave to mr. president for a wonderful job have done.
As for me this is the first time meet with everybody (maybe not all), feel very happy n enjoy along the weekend.
Hopefully to join u all again in the future. Being proud to be in the club n believe everybody feel so.

story a bit....
during journey back home from the gathering, around 8.15pm somewhere after tapah.... cruise comfortly around 140kmh together with najiha n my son behind. Suddenly jiha told me to see beside.... wow... one silver / grey lancer (too dark - not sure) stay beside me for a few second (wonder club members or not) then he pecut the car very fast. wallla.... chg to sport mode drop the gear try to chase him.....meter goes up to 170 .... but still cannot catch him...n due to traffic need to overtake left n right. At the time saw jiha already straighten her both leg and two hand at the roof holder hihihihiihihihi....finally let him go...hehehhhehehe....nasib baik bawak family. Then crusie back for 140 ..... after 10 minutes saw back the lancer go slow.... mmmm maybe waiting for me i guess.... then go to the right lane....stay beside.. saw him (very dark - nite) wave his hand...and wave back then me start pecut balik hehehhehhe....saw from the side mirror he keep tailing me...till reach 180 ..... cannot tekan anymore pasai cian nengok jiha n pikiq anak kat belakang hahahhahahhaa....maintain 180....left...right...overtake...he keeps follow me but don't want to overtake.....traffic quite huge at that time....finally before gopeng exit saw him from the mirror giving signal to exit gopeng...then slow down the car n stop b4 exit. He also stop behind. me n jiha go out from the car ..then see him come out too. GUESS who??????? yooo... bro NERRAD ....hehehehheheh ... what a surprised.....so excited to see members from the same company....
have a short chit chat....then shake hand n he left ....for Ipoh i think ...
wooww.... wht a feeling....jiha also looks happy even b4 afraid hehehehhehhehe...
In my mind..... ( u wait nerrad..... one fine day....when i'm alone...i'll fine u for a payback time hahahahhahahhahaha)

To the marshals and sweepers...you guys and gals discharged your duties with flying colours. The experience gained would be greatly treasured and appreciated for future convoys small or big

To the participants and their respective families...this would not be successful without the combined support from all LGTC members and their families! This day is truly a great, enjoyable and memorable day in our lives

Am very glad that i rush back from my overseas trip ( arrived back in Msia on 6th nov, hehe) just for this AG..

Worth every one bit... kudos to all who have help made this event successful..

Even though this AG is maravelous, but sure hope next year would be better... with more members joining..

It was a great gathering. Met a lot of new people and not so new people. Finally got a face to put to those forum nicks already. Really wanted to meet GreyGT (the one who types his forum posts in a funny short hand) and InfinityGT (bobbing cat avatar ) but didn't get the chance. ~sob

And you guys should have been there. Terion almost cry when giving his inaugral speech.

Yes...me too had a great time during the gathering...
Met new faces but not new names in forums...
Able to learn how to use chopsticks during dinner with short lesson...
Able to meet our DIY king...too bad he have to leave early to go to Ikea...hehehe

when I reached the hotel, whoooaaaa...what a sight!!! with almost 80 cars in formation for the photoshot, I was thinking this must a start of something better. and it was a great event which I am proud of. I am glad that I am part of this historic event. kudos to all the committe.
