We arrived at MERCY around 2.30 pm. We were welcomed by Nisha and later ushered to the conference room. In the conference room, we were briefed onthe situation in Gaza.
Maria, the liason officer informed that that during the early conflict, MERCY was lucky enough to send two lorries to GAZA, a few hours later all medicine and other medical supplies were not allowed to be send to the affected areas. Dr Jamilah and her colleagues , they called Pak azam is currently overseas and trying to nego with the local people to bring some more medicine inside the area.
Maria also informed that MERCY is currently trying to rebuild a destroyed clinic/hospital so the place will be able to provide the medical service to the palestine people. she also informed that this is the first time that all the medical supply have to be flown to another country (third country) before brought to GAZA. They are facing logistic problems.
En Radzi, invite us to be the volunteer for MERCY. You can help the logistic or organise function in Malaysia. If you are intrested to be a mission volunteer..u may need to go for training..!!
we were shown their office and informed that most of the facilities are donated by corporates and individuals.
