A lot of con man around and they are getting more sophisticated.

Thank you for the reminder. This is an eye opener. You are indeed right to point out those scammers are really getting very tech savvy and sophisticated.

ya i kena once also.. the fella wanted my cc no not enough, ask me to give her CVC no lagi... i just told them my card no CVC number...

I'm glad to be of assistance. This latest scam is quite smart.......

(1) They call your handphone to verify that you have made a purchase via credit card (This is normal. Your credit card company will sometimes call you to verify such transactions).

(2) You say, "No, I don't have such a credit card".

(3) They say "Oh, oh, someone is using your name to apply for the credit card. Then they gave you the phone number of "Bank Negara" to lodge a complaint.

(4) You dial the "Bank Negara" number and they will ask your full name, IC no. etc. in order to file your complaint.

(5) Next thing you know, your money is gone from your bank account.

if you're not sure, one way to verify is to ask for officer name and dept and call the Official bank number and look for the fella.
