wah bro speedzaa, finally you bought your LCD TV liao... good good good...

bro sean, we can poison him to get a decent set of home theater system to match his new LCD TV la... hehe... I know Sean got a decent Denon amplifier up for sell... you can PM him la... less than 2 months if I'm not mistaken...

bro infernus, cilaka punya you... org kaya macam u pun mahu tanya-tanya dan pikir-pikir lagi... just buy what is in your mind la... for LCD, if you want high end... just go for Sharp AQUOS FULL HD... no need to think on other brand anymore... "King of the King" mar... for home theater setup, is kinda complicated, you must ask yourself what you want and where you going to place it? if you are staying at semi D or banglow or dedicated sound system room ... can get those big big setup like 7.1 Dolby True HD system lo... if let said your house is linked house... get something like RM3-5k setup is good enough liao... but I never suggest to you get those "All in One Home Theater System" like JVC lo... anyway, you can call me if you want to know more on where to get these stuffs....
SC999
yap, infernus, dont ever buy those all in one satellite set up.

the sound macam nyamuk je.
SC999
Bro David, Pioneer for HT, unless u buying those high end range. if not, still got many many or plenty plenty rooms to upgrade la wei!
Reverend
Tun, if you are serious about home theatre setup, I can intro you to a friend of mine that sells hi-fi/home theatre. He is in Summit USJ. Long time ago, I used to buy all my high-end hi-fi from him (Linn, Jeff Rowland, etc.).

im currently using the sony DVD Home Theatre System - DAV-DZ270K

not bad... 850W + the surround sound is excellent and the subwoofer is floor shattering... good thing it comes with night mode or else probably have complain from the neighbors already..

only cons is that its input is only 2 so i can't enjoy the real 5.1 from my PS3...only from the DVD

B&O really not that great in terms of sound quality... but d*mn chun lo in terms of looks. In fact, my nephew used to own a B&O handphone (I think it was a JV between B&O and Samsung), cost RM8,000. Looks chun but dunno about the features...

Haha, sorry la bro, I was hoping to get Yamaha, but my situation doesnt allow me, so I just go for pioneer lor. If I get Yamaha, my mum will throw away it liao lol, you know la old ppl dont like those kind of sound. Even im using pioneer with panasonic now my mom oso complaining liao....wat to do?!!

Conclusion, buy another house? stay single?! hahaha......
SC999
dear bro david, buy a high end HT system it will allow u to align all speakers to optimal zone leveling , as simple as Audyssey and so on. so that the output range right to your ears and not distrubing the rest.

if really cannt, turn on night mode.

no need to stay single la... bro speedza, your mum will be d*mn disappointed on you if she heard you said want to stay single because of HT system...

by the way, just to let you know, those high-end Yamaha amplifier got a feature called SILENT CINEMA ... whereby after you turned it ON, you can watch movie or listen music without disturbing the people surrounding you...

for instance, I placed my Yamaha HT system in my bedroom, I used to watch BD movie or PS3 at nite, if I turn ON the SILENT CINEMA mode, even when my wife is sleeping, she no complaint at all, but if I switch on my LCD TV volume, my wife sure will complaint... this is the different between "NOISE" and "MUSIC"...

Hi those any sifu know how much the below cost?

Amplifier = Audiolab 2000
CD player = Creek
Speakers = EPOS Floor Standing 3-way speakers

Thanks! 2404_worship.gif
Reverend
Econ, I used to own an Audiolab. If you'd like, you can try visiting my friend's shop in Summit. IIRC, he carries all those stuff you mentioned!
speedzaa
Bro Sean,
Aiya dont say me young n handsome la, I prefer to be mature and man like you n reverend. cabutzzz.

Bro dcspeed,
I agree on you, I dont even like the sound came out from the LCD, very annoying the sound. Usually I watch movie I will off the LCD volume and use the HT to play out the sound. In this case I only can hear the true sound from it.

Uncle anthony, (hehehe)
Yea, my age still got long way to go. But anyhow I do hope like bro Sean, d*mn full loaded!

SC999
aiyo, david, me lao kokkok liao la.

btw, aint your HT will auto override TV sound output? no need to off it purposely one la.
eldiablo
I like Yamaha HT because of its features and sound quality for the price and you can buy components.
Also simple to use...

if you like to watch stuff alone at night get a good pair of wireless headphones - there are quite a few brands to choose from. Sennheiser, Sony, Bose are some of those available. Wired ones too troublesome (and cannot go to kitchen not too far of course).

my stuff is pre-hdmi and I use optical output to the amp - how do you guys with hdmi capable players connect to the amp? doesnt hdmi have only one output? e.g. ps3.
terion
new amps have multiple HDMI ins and outs so u can connect from PS3 to the amp and from the amp to the TV... correct me if im wrong sifus...
SC999
yap, u can connect say 3 devides to in Inputs of the Amp the 1 Put to TV. then the designated source once selected, it will then give u pic and sound.

note that not all amp that feature HDMI input will support video and sound concurrently.

dcspeed
my current yamaha amp has 3 hdmi inputs & 1 hdmi output but only for video switching. just like wat bro sean said, only hdmi 1.3a support both audio & video switching. tat's the reason y i wan to let go my current yamaha amp & ops for an upgrade. when i bought my yamaha last time, the lousy salesman keep saying mine is hdmi 1.3a. back home connect my ps3 only realized.
twom
My house is setup with 5.1 Harman/Kardon HT with 50'' plasma philips brand. The sound coming out from the HT is nice and crips but the downside is the remote given cannot control the sound. mellow.gif

is anyone here using JAMO Speakers? the salesman told me that ONKYO Amp match perfectly with JAMO speakers and i hv listen to it, it was very nice... but 1 thing is the JAMO speakers is danish company but made in china, and the ONKYO Amp is Japan company but made in Boleh Land, so is this normal for other brands?
