Never knew the spread of AIDS is so powerful. Now better don't buy
'already cut' fruits. Cut your own fruits and be safe.

Please read for info....... It was in Singapore - Waterloo Street .
A 10 year old boy, had eaten pineapple about 15 days back, and fell sick,
from the day he had eaten. Later when he had his health check done...
doctors diagnosed that he had AIDS.. His parents couldn't believe it...

Then the entire family went under a checkup.... none of them suffered from
Aids.
So the doctors checked again with the boy if he had eaten out...
The boy said 'yes'. He had pineapple that evening.

Immediately a group from the hospital went to the pineapple vendor to
check. They found the pineapple seller had a cut on his finger while
cutting the pineapple; his blood had spread into the fruit.
When they had his blood checked....the guy was suffering from AIDS...but
he himself was NOT aware.
Unfortunately the boy is suffering from it now.

Please take care while u eat on the road side and please fwd this mail to
your dear one's..

PLEASE TAKE CARE PLEASE FORWARD THIS MAIL TO ALL THE PERSONS YOU KNOW AS
YOUR MESSAGE MAY SAVE ONE'S LIFE !!!!

all i can say is it depends on ur luck... and the boy is d*mn kau unlucky...IF the story is true la...

got another one saying mosquito cannot spread the HIV virus, but how true is this? it may just be conjured up just to keep the public not to panic... or else all HIV positive person will be isolated and rounded up...

kinda funny here

the HIV virus is tranferrable through the cut pineapples contaminated with his blood but HIV take years to develop into full blown AIDS.... about 5-10 years.... not 15 days...

Anybody asked d boy did he have sex wif underaged girls or not? whistling.gif
The story does not make sense to me....
Reasons:
HIV is an RNA virus....it can only live in human body fluids eg. sweat, saliva, blood, semen...
The moment it leaves its host within seconds it will die off...
Unless the boy ate d fruite like straight after d guy handled d fruit then it's possible...
Plus there is a 6 months window period (or seroconversion timeframe) after a person contracted HIV virus....
This means that d HIV virus sometimes can only be detectable like 6 months after d initial infection...
So wat r d chances of getting HIV infection in a situation like this?
My bet: the boy got his HIV infection from somewhere else at some other point of time....

there's something call acute HIV conversion syndrome where ppl developed symptoms within weeks after exposure. Symptoms: Fever, generalized lymph nodes enlargement, flu like symptoms, rashes etc.

Nonetheless, i don't believe the transmission method via eating infected pineapple. blink.gif

The 3 doctors in our forum has spoken... Thanks for the insights...

eh, where is the other dr one? Lepak ka.. Oii Silver.. Where are you?
poknik
based on my reading and understanding...yes i agree with the three MDs...but still, if the fruit seller is HIV positive I won't dare to eat touch or what so ever by him...

there was also a story few years ago, in thailand, a group of HIV positive just for fun, go and poking tourist with needles soaked in their already infected blood...

but still, AIDS is not a funny matter. i had a conversation with a 'tukang mandi mayat' hospital kerajaan...he observed many cases of AIDS..and to get it settle for burial was a very difficult task...

HIV is a tough disease 2 get...
There's no cure up 2 date...
U contract d disease simply means u r waiting 4 ur time...

To those IVDUs they deserve it if they contract d virus...
But some got d infection from blood transfusion, vertical transmission etc...
They deserve 2 b respected n treated like normal individuals...

Please dun discriminate n isolate HIV positive individuals (IVDUs excluded of course!) confused.gif
