Dear Bro LGTC ians,

I'm thinking of buying either PS3 or XBOX 360

For gamers out there, need your precious information which one is better in terms of EVERYTHING? hehe

depends on what u want to do.... if ur a real serious hardcore gamer then get the xbox360...

but if ur not so hardcore and want to watch blu ray movies, then ps3 is ur choice

i got all 3 new gen of console, my verdict,

Xbox 360 - most practical to play with but once modded, no more online but u can play 'ahem' game with cheap price.

Ps3 - wow factor fastest BD pick up lens among all BD player. hate the most on constant firmware update. and game graphic no better than xbox360. but audio part sure win over xbox360.

Wii - fun when play more than 1 person. if u lone ranger, Wii is a redundant product. must play in group.

the PS3 update may be constant but it also increases the features on ur PS3... its like getting free updates for ur OS

but really take too long to update la.. probably my network too slow, that's it. haha.

but my PS3 still a BD player... use it for SF4 online nia. anyone playing SF4 la? d*mn sianz playing with daniel, he no fight la.

sean, thats y i download the updates from office in to my thumbdrive, then just plug it in and ask it to updated from storage media... much faster that way...

i wish i had then i can challenge you......i think i can match u kua heheheh.....if not my secondary skool days of hanging in arcade all wasted liao

u know what, during SF II days, there is a tournamnet in my hometown and the grand prize is a brand new Super Famicon.

guess what, later the organizer cancelled the event, as the other particiapnts know that i participating, all of them withdrawn, exaggerate right? haha!

reason being, i got Super Famicom that time which only the very few has it. i can train myself at home, haha.


oh ya, another disadvantage of PS3, graphic cannot fight with Xbox360 most of the time, but not all.

what about in terms of

1. games wise xbox360 has much more but ps3 is catching up slowly. parts wise both are quite available in the market

2. cost is about the same for both... although for ps3, the asian version is slightly cheaper then the malaysian version but the malaysian version has 80GB of storage compared to 40GB of the asian version.

4. for ps3 answered in no.2 for xbox i only know got the normal 360 and another the elite which is black in colour... need sc999 to answer this..

Xbox now got 20Gb, 40GB, 60GB and 120GB. and another variant XBOX360 Arcade with no HDD in box.

also, if decided on Xbox360, source for Jasper set. it reduces the chance of RROD. the old falcon set will have RROD after massive usage. i myself claim 3 times from M$ for RROD.

eh, so the arcade version can direclty play or need to install hdd first b4 can play?

the arcade version play as like normal xbox lo. just that u cant save. but u can opt to buy a 64mb memore card which absoultely not enuf space one.

if u buy Jasper set of Xbox 360 , no prob on playing for long hours.

PS3 on CELL main chip, complicated and high tech but not practical. and already proven graphic not better than Xb360. take LOTR: Conquest for example. PS3 version only at 720P whilst Xb360 version at 1080P.

Xb360 probbaly will phase out sooner than PS3. as it released more than 1 yr earlier than PS3. and PS3 CELL tech are supposed to across till PS6 according to Sony.

if PS3 no BD, then can play ahem games mah, then sould sell better in terms of outside of Jap n US la.

dun really know as if no blu ray, they would have launched it much earlier and the price would have been much much cheaper... even the games could have been cheaper...

Problem with a modded XBOX is that your warranty is VOID, instantly. And, if the infamous RROD pays you a visit, you'll can't get it fixed or replaced for free...

The PS3 will undoubtedly have a longer lifespan - games-wise. Graphically, games can and will only get better. I truly believe that we're just scratching the surface of what's possible with the PS3.

However, new PS3 games are rather expensive. But you can buy/find 2nd hand games at a more affordable price on the lowyat.net forum. Alternatively, you can go to sites like Amazon UK or US to buy them. They go on offer quite a fair bit.

My choice? A PS3, for sure! Bought it a year ago, and i think it's one of the best thing i've ever bought! Heck, even some handphones cost more than a PS3 these days.

i'm 55% for xbox360 45% for PS3..still pusing2..

xbox360 advantages:
1. cheap games, lots games in market, for modded can also play 'ehemm' games
2. better offer
3. better graphic quality

PS3 advantages:
1. latest technology
2. blu ray
3. stylish

I'd suggest that you take a look at the games available out there, or even the ones that will be released in the future. If gaming is your only concern, then why not make your decision to buy a console based on that?

For me, I'd still get the PS3. I'm not particularly pleased about the XBOX's RROD cases. Just do a quick google search on RROD and you'll see what I mean.

Some great PS3 games will be out next year. Off the top of my head, these are the ones i'm really looking forward to play:

i) God of War 3
ii) Gran Turismo 5
iii) Final Fantasy XIII
iv) Castlevania: Lords of Shadows
v) Unchartered 2
vi) Bayonetta
vii) Dante's Inferno
viii) Darksiders

Btw, i don't think that the XBOX has the edge over the PS3 in terms of graphics. If any, it's very little. And also, it depends on the developers of the games. For example, Final Fantasy. I doubt you can find an existing XBOX RPG that will beat FFXIII when it is out.

nope, take LOTR: Conquest to compare and u will know. Take Resident Evil 5 to compare u will know. both Xbox 360 on 1080P whilst PS3 on 720P.

on the graphics quality i think it depends on which platform was the game developed for then ported over for the other...

thats why i concluded generally, XBox graphic if not on par or better than PS3.

cause a lot of PSN games are native 1080p.. maybe the graphics too complex for ps3 to handle so they have to reduce the resolution?...lol

coz under PS3 network, to handle all in 1080P, a bit overload for them. whereas Xbox live already matured , no problem to handle.

but thats just the graphics end... on the network side its just information/data on scores/synchronizing stuff only.. how can the resolution that ur using matter?

imagine im using 640x480 to play CS on my PC, then u are playing on 1920x1080 resolution, it doesnt matter what connection we got (dial up/broadband) we still can play online mah... it should have nothing to do with the resolution... the resolution is only depends on ur hardware (graphics card/monitors/graphic ram).. not the servers...

i also not too sure. theoritically true, but thats wat EA said. probably i cut the statement too short then got misintepretation la. but generally thats what EA said wo.

so what i said was true... if they parallel develop the games for multiplatform then ps3 version will suck... if they develop the game just for PS3 its fine...

so means EA sucks at developing ps3 games unless its ONLY for PS3...

maybe ps3 codes harder to crack......

not harder to crack... just harder for them to convert their codes from xbox/PC to run on ps3 codes...

if they develop from ground up on the ps3, its fine... eg burnout..

with modded xbox360 and wii consoles, you will happy with its cheaper game titles... PS3 is only for true hardcore and serious gamer... i think PS3 graphics is the cunest among the 3 consoles ... somemore with its Bluray player function, I guess now already upgraded to firmware 1.30 already (terion, can confirm on this?) I remember the time I bought my PS3 the bluray is at firmware 1.10 only...
