Dear Terion,

Can U introduce "Music Box" in our forum.
It's a thread where we all can share music file, audio, mp3 etc.
Rapidshare, USA upload, Turbo Upload etc can host these files same like the idea using Image shack to host pictures. So no issue this forum will be limited of space due to large file.

Benefits:
- Members can share songs which they can play in their beloved lancer.
- Improve relationship between members as they can share idea or favorite songs.
- Make this forum up to date and better than other car club.
- Save money between members as there is no legal issue as we share the file and not sell/ make profit from it (many forum had done it anyway)
- Songs can improve our brain activity and make it calm (depend on song) which good for health.
- Members can contribute their own song which create creativity among members.
- Optimise our car audio capabilities, also need best songs.
- A lot lot more...

oi sharing music even within friends is still illegal la... what ur asking is like setting up a free mp3 download service... u want us to kena sue by MPAA ka?

"Sharing Is Caring"... unless it it is "categorized" as an act of piracy. I offered to burn free music CDs to members... do you know what happened, khus?

Dont put original or very high quality audio in ur forum.
Just like Youtube, 4share, sharemusic, jiwang etc. Put some cut or trademark or lower quality audio and bla bla... when u want to put in forum. That's the way they want to run from sue as sharing helps the affected industry by allowing the consumer to sample the product before spending the money to purchase it.

Youtube for example still exist althought you can watch TV shows such as Topgear series. Xde pun kena shutdown.
Somemore only official members can hav access in our "Music Box" not like them which is for everyone.

i dunno khus... i see ur point but im afraid some might take advantage of the situation and posts full songs and/or albums.

not to mention more moderation work for the moderators to make sure all posts are legit.

I hope U can try a while maybe a couple weeks. If U think it not going well, U can shut it down.
Ask "lalala" moderator take in charge in this since he not have specific job. he like to sing.. hehe...

its not just about the quality - its about the intellectual property - it doesnt matter if you make money or not.

If there are already sites that you say allow it - why not use those?

i presume the music box section will be more on discussion for the music/songs/artist itself... rather than free downloads

this is too risky and very hard to control. not easy to monitor.. i would say dont take chances unless everything/doubt sorted out black and white..

Khus if you can access other sites that provides songs why don't you just get those songs from there instead??

1st - use toggle option you won't be missing from the forum
2nd - think of other means of improvement that's very much related to Lancer related stuff
3rd - your ideas are good but don't see the real benefits for the forum.

Sorry Khus, I don't mean to pour cold water on your suggestion.

I understand what you are trying to achieve……..sharing good music among members here. But I foresee some legal problems arising later from the sharing and downloading of songs since intellectual property is involved. It doesn't matter even if access is restricted to official members only since it is still a breach of the law.

But as usual I will follow the majority decision here. As long as everyone is aware of the legal risks and is willing to take it……..meaning all the forum moderators and LGTC committee members who are putting their heads on the chopping block.

1st- Missing what I mean is I will not get any popup PM, cant see Shoutbox etc while I surf other web.
2nd- It's very much lancer related.
3rd- Real benefits to forum is to revive and make it different time to time which can improve hits and more members to come. Alaa.. Mcm radio station juga, Hitz.fm is good but then lose to Fly.fm after Fly make improment and introduce new section and live games.

Dont worry, It just suggestion only. U can choose to stick like the old day.

KW, No need to say sorry. Actually I like someone like u who will argue wt me. Just 2 share, Few years b4, I sell the basic idea about Eyes On M'sia and Tune Hotel, b4 everyone think bout it. Most people in board room argue wt the idea. Lastly, we came into improve idea and it's successful. Same thing like Membership no bid activity, many argue about the programme. I found a lot of websites that have legal songs. One of it playlist.com.
Can U try see "playlist.com"? This web same as youtube but they have songs instead.
They give certain code which can be stream/ link from their website same as youtube.
But I dont know how to link it wt forum.
We can create multiple playlist somemore.

PS: Guyz who love cars obviously love to see hot chicks and hear beautiful songs. That's what U can see during F1 trackday where we hav pit girls and concert. Same as well movies such as Fast and Furious.

Khus why are you using hot chicks to promote your idea? Isn't it a bit lame? Your idea is still in discussion.

We have to check and see if the linking allows members' own dvd rip to be linked if it doesn't then it's something to think about. We can't be having members misusing this function which in the long run costs the forum problems.

Just because other forums and sites are doing it doesn't mean we have to follow. Let us decide and we'll come to back you.
