I think members within our age group feels the lost more than the younger generation bro. Yesterday stayed up till 4am and it was well worth it. I remember when Billie Jean first came out, was a student in UK then and thought what a superb piece of music and video. Have not seen anything like it b4....and still have not seen any entertainer like him since.
I didn't even know it was on TV yesterday... I stayed up until 1AM playing some stupid PS3 game instead :(
I kinda understand what you mean but I don't think it is entirely true. I have read many reports whereby even folks in their early 20s have expressed how sad they are with MJ's demise.
His Motown 25th year Anniversary live performance of Billie Jean (his very first live performance of Billie Jean) was awesome. I have been re-watching all his DVDs/VCDs that I own over the past week and that performance stuck out; look at the crowd during that performance... all in their 80s "old-style" dresses and suits... but getting up and boogieing along with him. Nothing like it. That performance and his 1995 MTV Music Video Awards performance... oh man...
What MJ has done and who he is bridges all generational gaps and borders.
You're either Good or you're just average. MJ was, indeed, Good. Very Good.
