On 26th April 2010, I accompanied my better half to watch a local Chinese movie, "Ice Kacang Puppy Love". This is a trade off because she usually accompanied me to watch movies which I want to watch.

I thought the movie would be rubbish, the usual stereotype about local films, what more love story! Yuck. But it was a surprisingly good movie about the innocence of growing up in a small town and first love. If you like films like Sepet by Yasmin Ahmad, you will love this movie. It will bring tears to your eyes.

Please bring your wife or girlfriend to watch it in a cinema (if it is still showing) or buy the original DVD. They will love you more for doing this :)

The director of this movie had to mortgage his house to finance this film because nobody wanted to do it. Please support the local film industry.

I just watched this movie at the cinema last week. It is OK although not as good as Ip Man Part 1. But maybe some people may enjoy Ip Man Part 2 more because it has more fighting and less talking (or less substance)?

On a different note, the cinema announcer at KLCC announced "Ip Man" on the loudspeaker as "I" "P" "Man" (or to translate to BM "Orang IP"). doh.gif

I don't blame him because he is not Chinese. Actually the title of the movie is the hero's Chinese name "Ip Man" which is pronounced as "Ip Mun".

yup...the movie title do confuse some people especially those who didn't watch the 1st part...

btw, i was hoping the movie got some special appearance from his most famous disciple of them all (the late bruce lee)... can get some bruce lee look alike to act inside the movie lor...huhuhuu...that'll make the movie more interesting...

not sure how true but heard tht during the making mention by donnie yen there will be no more part 3, because if thy do come out thn the mov is no longer special!! and he is reluctant also to act in part 2 actually, i think sammo hung really kick a** for part 2! No need to wait for part 3 to c bruce lee, Fish of Fury will be out and Donnie Yen will be his sifu anyway biggrin.gif
