Ooooh, Hyundai continues its head-on fight against Camry/Accord... and this one is not bad at all... Front like Merc S-Class; back like Lexus IS:

you can see some styling ques from 7 series, CLS, M6, Honda City (look at the grille) and new mondeo on this car - but looks quite nice. Look forward to seeing it in the flesh.

Hyundai... I don't know lar. While 2nd hand value is not a primary concern when I buy a car, I have to concede the possibility of changing car if I don't like the vehicle after driving it for a while. This is especially true when it is a new model and you don't get too many first hand feedback from owners.
At the moment this Hyundai brand doesn't give its owners the flexibility to exercise this option due to its 'not so great' public opinion of the brand thus...... worse than usual resale value.

Good designing although a lot of cut and paste from other popular makes. Frankly, I prefer the incoming Passat CC...yummy or if budget is of no issue...the incoming Panamera

nice car..and I like this statement "The Sonata has a particularly powerful 2.0 liter engine from the Theta II family, which is a development of the GEMA world engine. Variants of the GEMA world engine are also found in Chrysler cars and locally in the Mitsubishi Lancer and Kia Optima.
The difference is with this latest stage of tune, horsepower and torque figures have been increase and are now even more impressive. The engine can now make a peak power output of 165 PS at 6,200rpm and a peak torque of 198Nm at 4,600rpm, which is very close to the 100Nm per liter ratio."

while it may have more power the torque figures are similar to our 4B11...
QUOTE
The 4B11 is a 4-cylinder DOHC engine with MIVEC variable valve timing on both intake and exhaust valves, making it somewhat equivalent to Toyota’s Dual VVT-i. In it’s US market application, it makes 152 horsepower at 6,000rpm (143 horsepower in California because of higher emission regulations) and
198Nm of torque at 4,250rpm, with 176Nm available from 2,500rpm. The 4B11 uses a new aluminium cylinder block as well as an aluminium cylinder head. A timing chain is used instead of a timing belt.

I donno la about Hyundai Sonata. To me, Sonata is a wannabe car. Last time I remember they're trying to be front merc and side profile like jaguar. Now something else is featured. To me they don't have their own identity....

That's on the looks la. I donno about the performance.
