After the fiasco with the 2 liter GT I don't think MMM will bring in the 2.4 liter version so soon. At least not until it irons out its delivery system and sort out the huge backlog of 2 liter GTs.

2.4L Lancer...i dun think MMM will launch it here. 2.4L for C-segment car not sell well here, people prefer 2.4L for Camry, Accord or Galant. In addition, even if the car is introduced here, i think the price diff will be rm20k+, judging frm Accord and Camry 2.0L vs 2.4L...at that level of price diff, people will rather upgrade to camry or accord 2.0L instead of lancer 2.4L.

conclusion, we can stop dreaming of the horse under the hood :) maybe we can try get half cut of it later n transplant to our GT... :)

Bigger capacity doesn't always mean higher FC. It could be quite the opposite some time.

in town it most probably will result higher FC, while on highway, it might gives better FC n it depends on the set up, plus higher road tax...

if they launch this in malaysia... you'll have to wait till 2010 to get the car.

thought of it also... 2.4 is for bigger car liao.. if me i also jump to camry or new accord if 2.4 as car's bigger unless i'm 5 years younger then i'll maintain 2.4 lancer, small n pack with power :)

I thought Mitsubishi 2.4 engine is reserved for new Perdana 2.4 ? So, Lancer 2.4 will not come la.

mitshubishi does not have any more ties with proton on the engine.

Based on the cc, the power of 168bhp is definately dissapointing. NA 2.4s can go up to 190bhp.
MMC, learn from BMW M series la. Sure many buyers here wan.

The website mentioned the 4B12 is the bored version of the 4B11... hmm... does that mean if we bore our 4B11 from 2.0L to 2.4L it would be the 4B12 engine? Cool...

Agreed bro! no one wants a higher CC car with higher road tax and FC when they can have higher HP with lower FC and RT.

Why car will be higher priced ?
Lancer 2.4 GT or
Lancer 2.0 GT-Turbo ?
My guess is 2.4 GT is much cheaper :)
InfinityGT

quite true, as the turbine alone is few Ks couple with intercooler and piping and management system.

They may not bring it in, but the cost I'm referring to is the AP price. MMM will have it.
Alxand, you privy to such information on AP pricing for the 2.4 model?
terion
Apr 7 2008, 05:49 PM
hmm.. is the AP price relative to the car they are doing to bring in ar?

Hmmm, for Camry, Accord & Mazda6, the 2.4/2.5L typically is about rm30k higher than the 2.0L...so if MMM launch 2.4L Lancer in mass, i guess the price wud be arnd rm150k...if on limited AP basis, i guess wud be arnd rm160-180k...cannot be more than VW GTi rm199k lah.
For better power, I always prefer turbo/supercharged over bigger NA cc...better broader torque curve. Saturday i watched the old Top Gear on NTV7, saw the EVO8-400 forced Lambo Marchi into tailspin...power!!
Turbo/supercharged or bigger NA cc, which 1 u guys prefer if price is same??
