ya, this is a super expensive hobby.

even u r swatch collector, it can burn a hole in your pocket as well. not to mention prestige then.

I think I'm quite lucky coz my family share the same passion, collecting watch as a hobby.

i do love watch but not a collector

my 1st watch is given by my dad, a gucci, then i bought myself a Tissot V8, then a rolex oyster perpetual and now on the TAG Carrera automatic.

now only wear the TAG 24/7...rolex only for special occasion

I have vintage rolex 6694 in my collection. Last time my father bought me the watch @ RM1,500. Now I can easily sell it @ RM4,000 ++.

although some look quite nice, the core for collectors and enthusiast is the appreciation of the watch design, brand values and the mechanism itself, even if its the more common ETA movements without COSC certification.

watch collecting doesnt have to be only very high end brands - some collectors buy watches from all price ranges, to appreciate the watch design, style.

Seiko, Tissot for example make some very nice reasonably priced watches with nice designs.

you've raised an interesting question - do collectors buy replicas..........??

as for selling - pls do discuss your query with site admin/moderators as they would be able to advise.

The retail price of this watch is RM5K. Was wondering if anyone knows anything about this as my friend don't want to reveal the shop as he is scared that i go and buy it....

i guess some collector have both ORI n replica.. ori keep at home n special occasion and replica for everyday use..

if its available - its a good buy even if its an older model... but see if design ngam with your tastes.

but to me, to appreciate it, the stuff has to be genuine. otherwise, it just like, u buy the look, not the soul. and also many of the times, the look also like only 50% lookalike, lol

i got this at a very special price from my singapore dealer fren of mine just three month ago for those collector, it is a very good and n worth-able watch to own!!! bump

i have this. but not fake one :) use it occasionally.

a very desirable TAG.... mechanism is suspended by 4 corner "absorbers" in a clear case, caseback.

funnyly enough I saw the replicas of this watch but the actual product doesnt seem to be in production yet.
gotta give the replica makers some credit man...
