Mitsubishi has just released images of the new Concept cX, frankly speaking at first view looks awkward. Perhaps due to the fact that most of us are still getting used to the new design of the Lancer 2.0 GT. The Concept cX looks like a Lancer that has somehow combined with the Mini. I’m not saying that it’s ugly, nor is it beautiful, well you be the judge.
Anyway let us move on to facts about this new concept, the Concept cX will be a AWD and it shall live up to the latest Euro 5-compliant clean diesel technology. The compact SUV will be fitted with a 1.9L diesel engine which will crank out 134bhp. Like the Lancer 2.0 GT, the concept cX will feature the same dual clutch SST automated manual transmission. The interior looks fantastic, with the dashboard looking like something out of Star Trek. But it is a concept, so the production model could end up looking dull without any of these cool starship controls.
It is safe to say that the Japanese car maker will be pushing this car hard in the European market as Mitsubishi has gone green by installing eco-friendly plastics, and imagine this, they have used organic resin made from bamboo and other plant materials for the interior such as floor mats, door trim, tail gate trim and the seat back panel. The european will go bonkers on how green this car will be.
