day 4...
still no news. called the insurance company (Etiqa Takaful Bhd) and was informed that they just appointed a company called Century Independent Loss Adjusters Sdn Bhd as their adjuster. gave Century a called immediately and told that only tomorrow will they assign an adjuster to handle my case. will check with them again tomorrow.
as for the comments made on the additional security features such as Immobilizer/anti-hijack etc, i doubt it can make any difference in my case since the robbers managed to get the car key once they got in my house. with the keys in hand, they can just disable/bypass whatever security systems installed...
and to answer wans81, no unfortunately i didn't do sand blasting to the car's windows/windscreen

May be can if install the anti-hijack, i just installed call 'cliffford' anti hijack with passwaord key in. finuction is everytime start the car after car moving within 1minute muz enter password, if not than alarm sound will activated continue 30 second car will stop and alarm sound continuely. otherthan this everytime driver door open and close start count 1 min and continue 30 sec after press brek pedal. password enter is just simple pressing in 2 small button.
so i ws think if u install this in ur car..the car jus can run 90sec and it will stop with alarm. unless he knock u up ask u drive for him lo...

would it be possible to get your help to inform all mitsubishi service centres/dealer/3S centres regarding my case? i can pm you my car's chassis and engine number for the centres to check, in case my car is sent for servicing or repair.
as i remember, the last recorded mileage by me was around 37000km, so only left with around 3000km before due for the next service.
let me know.
thanks.

if not because of the insurance requirement to have a police report officially lodged as part of our claim process, i will not even bother to deal with cops...such a nuisance.
just imagine, i made my police report 7:22am on that morning but yet, the police only managed to go to my house to get the fingerprints, photos and whatever forensic stuff that they need to do around 3pm
i apologize if my statement cause any offense to any members of the forum who happens to be in the uniform but that is the fact of life...so, i'm not keeping my hope up for them to get my car back, other than purely by chance. i even doubt that they will do anything else about my case other than just writing the official report. to them, my case in just another one among a few hundred or thousands other cases that they receive everyday...i'm just a nobody

guys, the latest unofficial intel that i hv on my car's whereabout is that the perpetrator is selling the car off to a buyer in thailand. now the car in located somewhere in Perlis, number plate has been changed (obviously) but the color is still grey.
so, if any one happens to be in the Perlis area (especially Northern members) near the border please do keep a lookout for a grey GT with a horizontal scratch mark about 2 inches long on the driver side of the front bumper, and a long (about 4 inches) almost vertical scratch from the edge of the headlight (passenger side) down - hope the marks are still there.
i've just changed the tyres a few weeks back, Falken 912. so the tyres should look new, with minor thread wear.
thanks.

good news...police have found my car!
it was found during a road-block on 13th Jan 2010 in KL, driven by a guy with the no. plate WQU 111. The guy also used the already expired road tax (29 Dec 2009) of the car WQU 111.
is the owner of WQU 111 also the club member?

I guess the post above is irrelevant now as they managed to recover your car. It is a hassle, but it's proven to be fruitful.

thank you all for the support given to me throughtout this horrific ordeal....am really glad to have found my car back, albeit with a some dents, scratches left by the bugger on my car. from what i can see this afternoon, the damages are:
1. one of the rim is heavily scratched (back tyre, left side)
2. big long dent at the back, near the left passenger door. about 6-7 inches
3. the rear bumper is slightly dislodged. i think caused by the impact that created the dent above (no. 2)
4. a few scratches at the rear trunk, near the Mitsubishi logo
other than that, the car was A okay...
i received the call from the police in the morning and by noon, went the Jln Travers police station to see the car for identification. before they handed over the car to me, a few needles (used for drug) were found and removed by the police. then drove the car back to Bkt Puchong police station and is currently kept there for the police to start the process of handing over to the owner.
My car will become one of the evidence in the case and because of this, I would have to attend the court for the handing over hopefully on next Thursday.
the guy who was caught driving my car is suspected to be the leader of a group that involved with many house break-ins in the Puchong area. about 5 members of this gang was also caught after the guy finally 'talked' to the police. this just goes to show us how dangerous Puchong has become.

things that i learnt from you:
1. Keep the key with myself, room locked at night.
2. Put special sticker or anything that can be easily spotted by others.
3. Have a copy of engine number/chasis number/key ID in my diary for easy references.
4. Sell my house in TPP 8 if possible

great news that your ride has been recovered and perpetrators caught.
I hope it helps restores the faith you had in the police and the justice system.
the damage doesnt sound too bad and should be reasonable to repair.
our partner section has some pretty good shops for touch up and repair.
btw I used to work in puchong area and yes, it can be quite notorious sometimes but then again no area is completely secure or safe... my brother just got his laptop stolen in damansara uptown.
