So far, is there any EvoX owner here running on non-VPower?
What will happen if lower RON (lower than V-Power) is used for the car?
Not a problem...we just need to detune the ECU to run on RON97. Obviously the end result would be a slight reduction in the bhp figures but torque remain unchanged and that's what most important to me

Or if you want to translate this into numbers...0kmh-100kmh acceleration remain unchanged at 4.1 seconds but top speed would be reduced from 300+kmh to about 280kmh. Therefore, the joys of overtaking and attacking corners remain unchanged. As far as my highway cruising is concerned, I don't go more than 100kmh...so the reduction in top speed ability is not an issue with me. Nevertheless, top speed ability is a very very subjective matter among SD's at LGTC
A big no no would be to continuously use RON97 without detuning. Immediate result would be loss of power and torque. Long term result...valve seats are going to give way, piston seals and even eventually cracked pistons...an X owner's worst nightmare

It's ok to use RON97 on an emergent basis but one has to resort to V-Power as soon as is practicable. By the way, V-Power in Malaysia is RON99 (Gasoline/Benzin RON98 and above is blue in colour unlike Gasoline/Benzin RON97 and below varies from yellow to light green). It is stated RON97+ for economic reason. End result is us consumers are the biggest beneficiary from this underdeclaration.
