This iPad looks like a bigger but crippled iPhone....

nothing wrong with being an oversized iphone style device - if I'm not mistaken its the same OS.

since I spend most of my online time with web and reading info/news this would be a good device
can chill in front of tv or can listen to my fav tunes without the usual drawbacks of a laptop esp the heat, power cords, bulk.

also I think this will give e-books a big boost and itunes will provide the delivery mechanism for the content.

for those wanting more - probably still need to get a laptop.

I have an ipad 32Gb 3G+wifi.. yes, you have the right mindset. Ipad is not to be compared with laptops just like Iphone is not compared with smartphones because they do not belong to that market segment to begin with.. I actually bought 2 units.. I gave the 1st one to my parents cos they loved it so much.. then I bought another one just for myself.. :) I love to read.. so this is one of the best investment I've done so far :)

i asked someone I know why would be a good reason for buying an Ipad and she said "angry birds HD"!

apparently a good way to keep adults and kids occupied and format is big enough for "spectators" to join in as well vs. private nature of iphone.

Got mine already. Jail broken and enjoying all the apps and games. Only thing is, i got bored of angry birds and am now hooked on Plants Vs zombies HD. Awesome!
