REPORT SPEEDING VEHICLES DURING CNY TO TRAFFIC OPERATION ROOM.
PETALING JAYA, Feb 3 — Motorists have been asked to report speeding vehicles, including express buses, to the traffic operation room or the nearest police station during the Chinese New Year (CNY) festival.
Federal police traffic chief Datuk Abdul Aziz Yusof said they could jot down the plate numbers of speeding vehicles and relay them to the operation room at 03-22725497 or 019-6000713.
The operation room is manned round-the-clock.
As the police will not mount roadblocks to avoid traffic congestion, public cooperation is needed to reduce speedhogs, he told reporters after attending a briefing on the PLUS Travel Time Advisory (TTA) during the CNY in Subang Jaya here on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, PLUS chief operating officer Nik Airina Nik Jaafar urged motorists to capitalise on the PLUS TTA on Feb 12, 13, 16, 20 and 21 in planning their travel.
She said PLUS expected the traffic volume on the North-South Expressway to increase by 30 per cent from one million vehicles on normal days.
PLUS will open 1,000 lanes at 20 toll plazas along the NSE to ease traffic flow, she said, adding that parking bays at 11 rest and service areas would be increased by 50 per cent during the festival

IMHO... better to waste petrol money (and have fun) chasing the speedsters than waste money calling the cops. You get gratification and satisfaction with one of the options, and get the run-around with the other.
Am I right?

if 200km/h already almost impossible la to jot down plate number, unless we speed too to get near the car to jot down, then we also consider speeding already, hahahahha, what an idiot step.

this one another non-sense idea...if wanna report to proof the fellow is speeding then how? by capturing your own speedometer and then catch the culprit no plate at the same time? utter rubbish again...wat we need is speed limiter to all vehicles on the road.....put 110km/h speed limiter even on ferarri,lambo,bugatti...bla..bla..bla...lalalalala...so we all just settle down with kancil 660 stock which can't speed beyond 120km/h...and took years to reach 100km/h...lol...then we all can enjoy the fuel subsidy....lalalala...

People Who Live In Glass Houses Should Not Throw StonesBut of course that stupid Lancer is to blame. Just step on the minyak and it easily shoot past 110km/h.

On a serious note, it'll be a miracle if you can maintain 50km/h due to the exodus going home for CNY.

oi oi.. dont be like this friend..
I travel on the highways 8-10 times a month. Other than myself, I've seen more speeding royal convoys and police vehicles (espcially the ones with white color body and got stickers of "SL", "PK", "KL" in the back, mostly Waja and Wira) than civilian cars. They actually expect us to obey the laws when they themselves can't even set a good example? And back to topic: speeding during CNY? Right, I will probably never get out of 3rd gear when I balik kampung. Our police just tends to spend the money and energy at the wrong place at the wrong time and on the wrong persons.

And those heavy convoy with police escort, like those buses with prisoners or containers with valuable cargos. They just hog the right lane at 90kmh for the next 200KM and if you pass them on the left they may cite you for illegal passing.

AGM, an advice for you friend.. better stop 'kutuk' our pihak berkuasa secara terang terangan.. this is public forum everyone can read what you post here.
For your information we have policemen members and more unknown members register with us. Please keep your personal opinion about pihak berkuasa to yourself.
If this topic going out of control, i will close it without warning.
TQ
Infernus,
Are you worrying about me or are you worrying about the forum? So this is not a free country right? We can't speak our mind? I'm not making up stories. I'm not insulating any particular person. I'm pointing out things that I've been seeing in my everyday's life and these are the things that most people have in their mind but just a bit worried or afraid to say publicly. If stating facts warrants the topic to be closed, my posting rights be suspended, or myself being arrested under the charge of sedition, then I don't know what is our mentality nowadays or where can Malaysia go from here. The day I stop talking is either the day I die or the day I stop caring about the country that I was born in. Last I check, we also pay the taxes here.
If your concern is not about me but about this forum, it's very easy. Just do a poll and see if everyone is sick and tired of my or anyone's political point of view. If more than 51% of the registered forumers have voted and there're more than 51% against it, then I will quietly retire and let everyone have their peace. After all, this is a car forum and maybe we should stick to talking about autofoam and bodykits.
Peace out.

Just stick to the topic guys.. if u have anything u dislike about G pls use the proper channel to suggest or release your temper....NOT in here...
This forum is for the members to hang out and make frens and this is not the place to show who is really taikos by acting above the law. We have rules in this country/forum and even police needs to follow those rules. If u dun agree with the method ( REPORT SPEEDING VEHICLES DURING CNY) then pls dont report the speeding vehicles when u see them smoke your evo/myvi/kancil as easy as that. Lots more u can contribute to the club by helping many members out there rather than making noise in here....

hmmm.. when G come out with some new ideas.. let sit down n think about it..
Lorries usually have some numbers behind their lorries for us to call if the drivers are driving like a mad man.. i personally called that number. after i put down the phone and i followed the lorry.. he later drove his lorry with a good manner.
personally..it may work.. maybe not for the speeding part but maybe for those who cut lines and drive their vehicle on the emergency lane.
Just respect the the law.. we are not above the law. i agree with M7.. forum is our place to hang out..make frens.. we may have different opinions but it does not give us the right to disrespect each other. Maybe for those who have great ideas.. you may give/ share your ideas with the G.

you all have valid points.
on this topic, I agree that it seems wierd as there is no way to verify the "charges".
unless its a way to "tip" enforcement who then use cameras and other equipment to verify?

QUOTE(Infernus @ Feb 10 2010, 11:40 PM)

Aiyoyo...we already OT....Very the sorry. Hannyways, back to the topic discussed, irrespective of the toys the enforcement have in their arsenal, and despite the differences in our opinions on this matter and indeed we are entitled to our own individual opinions, it is most important and imperative for us to achieve this...
to drive safe and ensure the safety of our passengers and ourselves and also fellow road users immediately around us to the best of our abilities and capabilities. It is most likely that we shall encounter inconsiderate/impatient drivers along the way, but at the end of the day, we should only focus on the safety and well being of our vehicle and those inside in tandem with the safety of fellow road users around us to the best of our capabilities within our means.
Indeed this is easier said than done, but we can at least endeavour to do our individual and respective part in this team effort of road safety and make our roads a much more safer place to drive on.
In making this effort, I take this opportunity to remind myself and us all to positively digest this simple but very important fact of arriving safely at our respective destinations whereever our journey takes us. It is often overlooked and taken for granted until we don't arrive safely. Let's just take a brief moment to emphasise our inner self to arrive safe whenever we forget ourselves behind the steering wheel.
In light of this, and the upcoming Year of the Metal Tiger, my family and I would like to wish beloved fellow LGTC Members and LGTC Guests reading this forum to drive safe and arrive safe this coming holidays and the times to come....KONG HEE FATT CHOY...May the New Year bring you all Good Health, Happiness and Good Fortune

It's quite okay to have some degree of fun from time to time...it would be boring otherwise
The rule of thumb is that to remain in control of your situation in light of your immediate surrounding at all times....At least try to be

This is because you cannot control the actions and intentions of the inconsiderate/impatient driver around you, more often than not, we can be endeavour to be in control of ourselves.
We only live once. Make the best of every situation we encounter every day, but the more we succeed to be in control of our situation rather than the other way round, the more meaningful and significant each passing second appears to us
