this happened few years ago also..
just be careful with any cheap oil.. get it from reputable seller..
can't tell from the bottle or even the oil itself...

that's why i always buy my engine oil direct from the dealer or at any petrol pump station. More secured and trusted eventhough quite expensive a bit.

good report - thanks for the post. kudos to the author/photographer!

with high margin and high selling price this is bound to be copied. I've heard that some use recycled oil collected from service centres that are originally bound for industrial use (which are ok for low grade oils).

yes, as with what some are posted try to buy from reputable source. Even though a bit more expensive.

anyone ever ask where SC's source from? ermm.gif

what I dont like is that they can con mechanics too.... not too sure how the supply chain works but I know that salesmen usually travel around to sell this to shops.

mechanic might not aware, but the boss maybe have cycle trade for used oil & get back "new" oil at discounted price..
and who are suppose to monitor this used oil collector, how they dump it etc?
