Everybody,

Please vote for me (under name Hoh Mei Leng) in the Olympus photography contest here. I might stand to win the new Olympus E-PL1.

OK, got doubt? Here's my FAQs

1. Alamak, you tak tahu malu ke asking for vote like this?

Believe me, I'm definitely embarassed. But then I really would like to have a shot at winning the camera, so, I have to be thick-skinned lor (kalis peluru thick) ...

2. If I vote for you like that, wouldn't it be unfair to other contestant?

NO worries. This contest is mostly for Olympus to gain publicity and not really those 'real' photography contest. It's even stated in their website you can ask your friends to vote for you. So, there's nothing illegal here.... not to mention votes only constitute 50% of the points. The other 50% will be dependent on the panel of judges.

3. Why should I vote for you?

a) To help me end the string of bad luck hounding me this year.... my car problem and all...

b) To help launch-start my mother's 'virgin' modeling career in her 80 years. (My mother is the model in my photo..)

c) If I win, I'll pimp LGTC by wearing LGTC shirt to collect prize....

2 questions:

a. how many times can we vote?

b. will olympus change the entries without notification & give the votes to others?

voted for the old lady one.. my 0.2 sen: think u were focusing on the photo... but the old lady is too close and big to be an out-of-focus object...

Koonx: The T&C did not state how many times we can vote... IMHO, I reckon they did not do anything sophisticated like tracking IP addresses to count votes. As for your other question,

But then it never occur to me olympus will do that... why do you ask? Is there such practices you're aware of? If you don't mind share lar.... 'the dark world of photography contest..'.....

As for the photo composition, you're right. I focused on the 'sexy' old photo. I initially wanted to do a close-up of the old photo and a blur half/quarter face of my mother in the background. But then my mother so sportingly agree to be my model FOC, I at least owe it to her to show her 'full' face..

beagle, i wanted to vote for u but both d links u provided brought me to a black empty page with a link 'bypass the detection'....

I'm sorry to write this late.... a real heartfelt thanks to all who voted for me. I dun consider my chances of winning high coz I only got 300+ votes as opposed to some getting 800+..... (sial, where got ppl have so many frens one??
