A heads up from our corporate communications department. Please take note.
----------------------------
Ladies and gentlemen,
It has been brought to our attention that a syndicate is operating at random PETRONAS Petrol Stations across Malaysia, with the intention to rob the car owner at their home. Some of you may have received emails pertaining to this. We have checked with PETRONAS itself and they have confirmed the authenticity of the internal memo they have circulated to all their station operators. The memo is attached.
The modus operandi of the syndicate is as follows:
The syndicate gives out free gifts like keychains, mini-dolls and the like to unsuspecting customers. This "gift" is equipped with a device that can identify its location via a receiver.
The syndicate will trace the recipient via this device, and thus this can lead the syndicate to the recipient's homes, where they are believed to rob/burglarise the owner/home.
The details of the scheme is sketchy, but obviously there is a syndicate operating with ill intentions. PETRONAS in their memo has urged their operators to be on the lookout, and to report such activity to the authorities.
We are urging all employees to be aware of the syndicate and to exercise caution. Please share this information with your friends and family.

hmmm...this has all the makings of an urban legend.
if they wanna steal an expensive car, just go ronda2 around posh area and pinpoint ur target, why wanna expose urself at petrol stations with all the cctv around......
But as mentioned...better be safe than sorry
