This is a continuation from the iPhone 3GS thread last year:

http://forum.lancerzone.com/index.php?showtopic=5707

Yeah...I've been a fan of the iPhone now. have to admit that my HTC HD suck big time. However though, I still haven't got one yet. Still waiting for the next generation of iPhone. So, been surfing the web now and then searching for any clues if the Apple is going to introduce a new version of its famous phone.

And...voila!!! thumbsup.gif One stupid Apple engineer left the so called top secret iPhone 4G in a bar in Redwood, Cal. Some college student got hold of it and sold it to Gizmodo for USD5K. And yeah...somebody gonna lose his job. Click the link below:

http://gizmodo.com/5520164/this-is-apples-next-iphone

So, what's new on the iPhone 4G? Here's the list:
• Front-facing video chat camera (Finally!!!)
• Improved regular back-camera (the lens is quite noticeably larger than the iPhone 3GS)
• Camera flash
• Micro-SIM instead of standard SIM (like the iPad)
• Improved display. It's unclear if it's the 960x640 display thrown around before—it certainly looks like it, with the "Connect to iTunes" screen displaying much higher resolution than on a 3GS.
• What looks to be a secondary mic for noise cancellation, at the top, next to the headphone jack
• Split buttons for volume
• Power, mute, and volume buttons are all metallic

The battery is purportedly to be 19% bigger. But I'm not sure whether it's better than the current battery to which I believe is a battery from one stage above h*ll. We just have to wait and see.

Apart from that, sadly, this iPhone still does not support Flash. Don't know why, Stevie just hates flash and deprived it's users from enjoying one too. (Stupid!!). down.gif

Not sure when Apple is going to launch it's latest gizmo to the world. But I'm waiting in vain. Crossing my fingers hoping it would be this year. biggrin.gif

Till then, enjoy your 3GS while you still can. As for me, have to stick with my HTC for a bit longer sad.gif

Anthing goes. As long as you don't talk about how to build a bridge here LOL. TS ok one.

HD2 comes with Win 6.5.
SC999
sad to say that HD2 is the lastest HTC phone that using WM6.5 but not 7 compatible.

think intentionally so that they can come out HD2 Plus or so.
terion
oh now i remember.. MS said that HD2 lacks one or 2 features that is required to use Winmo7.. forgot what was it...
SC999
anyhow, HD2 really surprised me with its feature and functions. as well as its processor. quite amazing i must say :)

wow, came from iphone long time owner... HD2 must be good!! thumbsup.gif
SC999
falcon. its good.

but not flawless

when u want to uplock the phone (sliding like iphone) the bar is on top of the screen. so when u using a hand, difficult to unlock. u must then use another hand lo. somemore no antislip casing for it. quite easy to drop off.
trivial_psyche
i think iphone normally will launch in July for US.
then have to wait 1-2months for it to reach Malaysia.
So maybe August/Sept la will be here...
eldiablo
might not be so fast in my view.... they always give priority to US market first....

totally agreed with poknik...blackberry more MANLY, compare to iphone like GIRLY, but i'm nokia user..nice design also for E5, C6 & C3
shah25
It's not the matter of manly or girly here. It all boils down to preferance and choice. What does it say when a lady uses a BB? She's manly? No right.

just my 2cents opnion bro..and my point of view...cheers
eldiablo
2 cents...

Iphone
+ve - apps, motion sensor, touchscreen easy to use, nice build, lots of accessories, iPod
-ve - battery life not so fantastic, cant type as fast as bb, needs a case to protect it

BBerry (non storm unit)
+ve - keyboard, fast performance, serious image, corporate backend integration
-ve - browsing is not as nice as Iphone, smaller screen, media player and library mgmt

my friend showed me a new moto handset (not on market yet) with Android and the screen looked great with animated wallpaper - response better than 1st gen units and marketplace seems to be improving everyday... not bad...
SC999
not realy eld. i think i can challenge any BB users in terms of text input :P

The latest iPhone 4 was launched last week the 6th. Nothing much on the review, except of course Steve Jobs said that this is the most sophisticated iPhone ever produced. Some videos of the launch:

It will be on sale on June 24th. Hope it will reach Malaysia in a not too distant future.
WhiteSurfer
I can bet 1 teh tarik Sean ( SC999 ) will be among our first member to get this biggrin.gif . Launching in US & UK on 24th June and will be launched officially in Spore in July.
But for sure we will see underwater units by early July in our friendly phone kiosks biggrin.gif

cannot be so ex mehh...possibly like 2.5k for 16GB ? somwhat like iPad pricing now.
terion
i found the pricing for the phone without contract

QUOTE
Not one of the lucky folks who got their AT&T upgrade date bumped up by some 6 months? Or do you want to buy an iPhone without any early termination fee whatsoever? The fine folks at TUAW have done the legwork to find out how much that will cost you. Here’s the full breakdown for 16GB/32GB models:

Upgrade okayed for launch: $199/$299

Upgrade date after Jan 1, 2011: $399/$499

No-commitment contract: $599/$699

So, for all those who don’t want to be beholden to AT&T any more than physically necessary to get their phone to work, here’s what it will cost you out of pocket to purchase an iPhone with no early termination fee. For those stuck in the middle bracket, that’s a sh*tty situation — being charged an extra $200 for not getting AT&T’s mammoth upgrade date shift. Here’s an upside: you might be coming off contract just in time to see another carrier pick up the phone!

cost price already 2000/2.3k... so maybe will be sold here ard 3k++?

I will hold my HTC HD2 longer ... it has wifi router, so I can share my unlimited broadband with other devices.

-sent from my iPad-

can't iphone do that also?

based on my study, it can, but you need to jailbreak the iPhone, which will void the warranty .....

Isn't this called Internet tethering? I believe my iPhone 3G can do that (but I've never had the need to try).

There doesn't seem to be anything really special with this new iPhone. The front-facing cam is prolly for cam whores while I think the overall look is a step backwards in terms of style for a company built on, well, style.

Slightly related : Spent lunch during the weekend with my nephews that both had iPads and OMG, what a waste of money (but then again, Apple knows how to make money :P ).
Arshad
Well, it depends on people perspective. As for me, I like new gadgets. :D

Apple always come up with products that appeal to your age group... that's why they make money and is now bigger that Microsoft :)

Guess I've become weary of these kinda stuff. Or that I'm too old. Or both :)

Hahahah true tho. :p

i was following the session live... it was a case of 570+ wifi routers being active in the same room leading to some wifi issues....

i think some of the highlights:
- 5 MP camera (yes, i know all the sony/samsung guys are saying so what)
- HD Video recording and editing and imovie
- longer battery life, faster processor
- hi-res "retina" display
- 6 axis gyroscope (i forgot if android devices have this or same as 3g one...)

btw to others, some people think that putting a BOT or changing rims, performance mods and putting LEDS/Stickers is a big waste of money..... so to each his/her own.
Arshad
Don't forget multi-task in OS4. :D

Yeah, correct. Wasn't that hard for me to decide to spend 15K on a TV but I had to think 10x before deciding to buy some car mod that cost RM300.

ya forgot about this but didnt really need it - it handles calls, sms, ipod while doing other things fine.

but guess that it would allow better flexibility in how to switch from other apps.

iP4 will be available at Singapore starting this Friday, not only at Singapore telcos, but also at Singapore Apple Store. Best thing is unlock version!! biggrin.gif

16GB= S$ 888 = RM2100
32 GB= S$1048 = RM2500

Please refer to this http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1504289

So guys....trip to Singapore???
shah25
Thanks Axe for the headsup. Wonder how much will it be priced when it roll out in Malaysia?

Has Apple addressed the receptions issue on the IP4?

I also come to realise that the video call can only be made via WiFi. Why la they're so backward not to make it available on mobile line...? Haiyaaa. Anyonee can lighten me up on this. Any specific strategies why Jobs does this?

have u tried this sticker?

QUOTE
If you are that kind and are also looking at a way to keep the death grip issue at bay, then you should probably check out this innovative solution found on Etsy. This is a simple vinyl sticker that users may patch on to the lower left corner of the iPhone that will help to solve the connectivity issues. Also, the elegantly colored strips could also be a stylish add-on to your iPhone.
