Yesterday it's the first time M'sia men team lost to Japan in Thomas cup (2-3) ever.
Today women team lost to Indonesia (0-3) in Uber cup quarter final which end their hope to progress to next round.

Today, 6pm. Msian men team will fight wt Denmark in Thomas Cup quarter final.
Even though they can beat Denmark today, they had to face China in semi after China crushed south korea 3-0 this evening. While Indonesia can be consider book final as they are draw in weaker half group.
It hard schedule/ tough draw for Malaysia.

In 1992, when Msia won Thomas cup, they also lost in group stage to Korea (2-3).
Then they beat Denmark, China (semi) & Indonesia (final). co-incidentally wt this year.

Can they repeat the same story? Or it just a legend?

To be fair, against China (1st seeded). I think it still 50-50. Either side can win 3-2.
If Msian 1st single & 1st pair win, Msian should win the game. If any of them drop a point, China surely win.

Although Malaysia lost 2 points against Denmark last nite, it's not too bad as all Msian loser players fought until their last drop of sweat. they didnt give up easily until rubber set. While all Msian winner players won in a straight set.

Anyway, losing to Japan in group stage is not too bad after all. After that, Malaysian had been considered underdog either against China or Indonesia.
It's nothing to lose.

BUT this is badminton and as we all know Malaysia is amongst the top 4 teams and playing against each other, the chances of winning is always there....sumore on our own turf.
