Guys,
I know this has nothing to do with our lancer, but i think every car owner and potential car buyer ought to know this.
You must read this, how bad Proton is and how Proton screws people...

a very unfortunated story.
and that's a bullcrap reason on how the car caught on fire!! how could anything flied into the exhaust and caught on fire?
but then again it's us small consumer vesus big time giant proton, without a strong financial background and good lawyers, i doubt it's going anywhere.
i guess it's time for the power of press to come into the picture.

toyota wasnt any good according to my colleague's experience.
his car's immobilizer was ko'ed after only 3 hrs he got the new car. then the car has to be towed away and he was carless over the weekend. all toyota compensated to him was 3 free car washes.

They will only take action to remedy it once they find out its going to go public. That's why sometimes it is really really useful to have a association or union or something like LGTC who can stand up to them and say "hey look, you don't do something the whole world is going to find out your service sucks!"

proton probably didnt care much as it was mainly the sc's fault.
what the press can do is emphasized on "a proton authorized service centre" did it, in turns to give proton some pressure.
too bad she didnt get an official black and white report on the investigation. and it was rather unfortunated that the car was towed back to that lousy sc before any inspection.

I actually witness this car caught fire that day when i happen to pass by Jalan Tun Razak. Pity her standing there.
My colleague Waja also caught fire in front her house. Sold off her waja and bought a BMW 3 series.
Do not mess around with the car wiring.

I know about a case during development and testing by proton guys going up Gentings with the Gen2, the Campro engine also caught fire, caused by some leaking fuel vapours in the engine compartment.

My take on this is simple.
IN MALAYSIA, THERE IS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE.
What had happen cannot be reversed but what I gather reading her story was NOBODY cares (even the so called Proton ICare).
To be brutally honest, I think if this thing happen in other marque, we (the consumer and in this light a victim) will still be kicked around with the hope once we get tired, we'll relent.
Though I don't know how, I hope she got her justice.

For budget car now most people go for Perodua. Build quality wise so far I have heard of many better feedback than Proton.

Ya, enough is enough!!! Unfortunately, we can't afford to buy a better car due to our government. So next time if anyone sit there whining, complaining or cursing for the bad and expensive price of everything, be sure you voted for a good government. Else, no sympathy...
TIME TO CHANGE! OUR CHANCE IS HERE NOW!

in boleh land, none of the parties can reverse current situation . If any of the parties won, oil price won't go up? Import taxes can be cheaper? None of them can do it when the read the true financial of boleh land. Promise by this that or the other party can be in the sky, but who to realize it? One day corruption ard, then nothing to say further.
And I really cannot understbad why mitsu engaged with eon on after sales service, if mmm wanna to established themself here but partnership with eon; then all the best.

she sounded so proud of her car before - probably the only thing she really cared about till this happened. *ouch
I agree with choy2 - used to be very patriotic but felt disappointed over the years...

well, not taking any side here, but in this proton side, it's a 3S dealer... as for mits with eon... eon got the biggest network. n any bad experience at the service center is just soem bad apples... even myself soemtime faces problem in service center not as a owner but as a staff, but it just some bad apples around, over all, i'm still satisfied with previous service at glenmarie n pj, haven't tried the outstation one :)
but aboev all we got consumer right here... so i think the neo owner can try her best to sort it out. with election now, maybe those vip can help :)

This is by far the BEST news i have receive to date.
Finally a smile planted genuinely on my face ever since this incident happened.
Proton has agreed to my request after this has been communicated to the MD, DSZ by Encik Fairuz, Manager in MD's office.
Proton edar will pay half of the installment back, while Sin Siang Hin will bare the cost of the other half.
A letter will be issued and Azim will collect it on my behalf since he is in COE.
:)
I am by far really really happy that Proton understand what i told them in the meeting the other day. I am also happy because Proton is not playing around with me and keeping their word.
Shall wait and see the content of the letter.

I would wait for the letter to be sure.
The consumer should not be held accountable not be held accountable for the SC's mistake. Some more she has to lose her NCB? Come on...
